The blood lipid regulation effects and chemical constituents of Chinese traditional compound medicine Shan Dan Shaoyao Tang (Fructus Crataegi, Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae and Radix Paeoniae Rubra decoction) were studied in this dissertation. The blood lipid levels in the serum of experimental hyperlipidemic rats after ig Shan Dan Shaoyao Tang decoction were measured and evaluated. A kind of tracing and evaluation method for the bioactive components of Chinese traditional compound medicine was established for the first time, and this method was successfully applied to the analysis of the active chemical components of Shan Dan Shaoyao Tang. A new coulometric titration method for the determination of cholesterol in serum was developed, and the proposed method was also used to the measurement of cholesterol levels in rats and human serum samples with satisfactory results. The chemical constituents of Shan Dan Shaoyao Tang were isolated and elucidated, and fifteen compounds were obtained. The active chemical constituents of Shan Dan Shaoyao Tang were also analyzed by TLC and HPLC methods. 1. Pharmacological Effects of Shan Dan Shaoyao Tang on Blood Lipid Regulation...
