Objectives: (1) To exploring the relationship among smoking, schizophrenia and related neurocognitive functions; (2) To searching for susceptibility genes of schizophrenia and related traits by adopting candidate gene strategy, and using clinical diagnosis of schizophrenia, neurocognitive functions and status of smoking as qualitative and quantitative genetic phenotypes.Materials and Methods: (1) Schizophrenic patients were collected with clinical symptom assessment and neurocoginitive functions (306 cases), and with their status of smoking (221 cases) by using structural diagnostic and asseaamental instruments (SCID and PANSS), a series of neuropsychological tests and inversitgation tools for Nicotine addiction.
