In the operation of SPR (selective posterior rhizotomy) which is used to treated the CP(cerebral palsy), we find a interesting clinical phenomena , after the operation of SPR, the upper limb spastic symptom were meliorated .which can not be explained by theγ-loop theory . Therefore, The investigation was made with c-fos labeling and Pseudorabies virus labeling about the neuronal pathway connection between the cervical spinal cord and the lumbar spinal cord. Part Ⅰ: Create a SD rat model of the type of spastic CP Objective: We created a SD rat model of the type of spastic CP, to imitate the state of the type of spastic CP. Methods: 30 male SD rats was used to make a model of the type of spastic cerebral palsy. After the anaesthesia, a incision was made on the calvaria of the SD rat, the right slot brtween the crest bone and the forehead bone was found. A rectangle bone petal surround the slot was drilled, then it was took away. The bone window is about 0.8×0.5 ㎝. Then the cerebral cortex and part medulla were dig out with bistoury, the deep was 3-4mm. After hemostasia, the skin was sutured. Results: 17 SD rat model of the type of spastic CP and 9 SD rat model of the normal survived. The left limb were found limp in the model of the type of spastic CP, the left forearm did not buttress when it eat food and drink water. The symptom of spastic CP was not changed after a month. Conclusions: The symptom of spastic CP was not changed and existed after a month. The model is simple and is easy to create. We think the model is useful in the experiment investigation of the type of spastic CP PartⅡ: The investigation was made with Pseudorabies virus labeling about the neuronal pathway connection between the cervical spinal cord and the lumbar spinal cord Objective: This investigation was made with PRV labeling about the neuronal pathway connection between the cervical spinal cord and the lumbar spinal cord. Methods: 26 male SD rats was used to make spastic cerebral palsy model, after 2 months, the PRV was injected into the left sciatic nerve, the concentration of the PRV is 7x107PFU/ml. 10μl PRV was injected with Hamilton syringe. The cervical and lumbar spinal cord was taken out four days after the operation, C5-8 and L4-6 spinal cord were cut , the thickness is 40μm . Then immunochemical labeling of the PRV was done. Results: 17 SD rat model of the type of spastic CP and 9 SD rat model of the normal survived .The infected anterior corner cell by the PRV was found in the left lumbar spinal cord, The infected cell by the PRV was not found in the left posterior corner of the lumbar spinal cord, we think it is because the quantity of the PRV is too small to be observed. There is not obvious difference between the model of the type of spastic CP and model of the normal. The infected cell by the PRV was not found in the cervical spinal cord in all the SD rat include the type of the spastic and the type of the normal. Conclutions: The infected cell by the PRV was found in the lumbar spinal cord and it was not found in the cervical spinal cord, it is suggested that there is not direct neuronal pathway connection between the cervical spinal cord and the lumbar spinal cord.
