In traditional Chinese medicine, Ischemic Cerebrovascular disease belong to "zhongfeng disease" eategory. Ischemic Cerebrovascular disease shows high rate of attack, death and disability, the prevention and treatment of which is an important subject on medicine and society for it' s terrible harm to people' s health. Several mechanisms are likelt to be involved in brain plasticity. Activity-dependent modification of synaptic connection and reorganization of adult cortical areas are thronght to involve long-term potentiation (LTP)and long-term depression (LTD), mechanisms by which information is stored in the mammalian central nervous system. Acupuncture and moxibustion therapy can improve ischemic stroke patient' s rehabilitation, enhance patient' s exist mass much better than other treatments with convenience, availability, cheapness and convinced by both experts and patients of ischemic stroke all over the world. But Acupuncture and moxibustion intervene occasion and excitation weigh and course and interval still existence altercation, Acupuncture and moxibustion improve the functional recovery of poststroke principl still unknown. In the order to study possible action mechanism of acupuncture and moxibustion in improve brain plasticity after ischemia stroke. The present study was be base on before investigation to study different acupuncture weigh effcter the functional recovery of post-stroke. We take up focal cerebral ischemia by occlusion of the middlecerebral artery (MCAO) in the rat brain as the experiment model. Used electro-physiology methods, study the change of hippocampus synaptic plasticity after ischemic and acupuncture effect. The following context has several aspects.1. Literature ResearchThrough literature review we known "zhongfeng disease" origin and development and etiology, pathogenesis and therapy and origin and development of acupuncture therapy cerebral ischemia. With commentary upon past of treatment of research we put forth that acupuncture be considered an effective form of treat cerebral ischemic. All that has been done founds the theorical basis of further studying acupuncture for ischemic stroke.2. Clinical ResearchSubjects and Merhods: sixty seven consecutive patients admitted to the acupuncture therapeutics. Patients were stratified into therapeutics group I-acupuncture treatment twice per day, and group II-acupuncture treatment once per day by "niasanzhen" acupuncture methods. In pretreatment and unicourse and two course conclusion used FMA assessing motor recovery, used Barthel Index measure disability respectively, Comparson with intrabundle and infrabundie. Results as follow. Results: (1) Comparson with pretreatment the "Niesanzhen" Neeling could improved poststroke patients motor function and activies of daily living (P<0. 01) , group I who acupuncture treatment twice per day improved singnificantly more than groupII who acupuncture treatment once per day ( P < 0.05 ) . Acupuncture effect enhance following therapy time elongation.(2)Comparson with pretreatment the "Niesanzhen" Neeling could improved poststroke patients motor function and activies of daily living(P<0. 01). The concept of brain plasticity was first brought by Bethe A, in the earlyl930s. He thought that the brain plasticity was the ability to adapt to changes and the ability to handle with dangers in the life. It was not only a kind of phenomena existing in all life-forms, but also a basis that the central nervous system reorganizes to keep its function when was hurt. Synapse is neuron' s important constitution, Brain plasticity encompasses all possible mechanisms of neuronal reorganization. Synaptic plasticity was brain plasticity main manifestation. Long-term potentiation is the prototype of modified synaptic efficacy. It explains how converging inputs from various sources, including intracortical connections, interact to reshape cortical input-output somatotopy. Synaptic plasticity in cortical horizontal connections has been proposed to uunderlie cortical map reorganization. The local ischemia model was established by MACO of the rats. We observed the change of hippocampus synaptic plasticity after ischemic and treatment by EA. Male Wistar rats were used for the experiments. Four experiment groups were studied: sham-operation group, ischemia group, ischemia + EA group I - acupuncture treatment once per day, ischemia + EA groupII- acupuncture treatment twice per day. In praxiology, a2-point scale modified from that previously described by Bederson et al was used for neurological assessment. All the rats in the sham-operation group were marked 0 both after 3 hours and 2 weeks. That meaned they didn' t suffer any hurt about nerve function. The acupuncture treatment could enhance ischemic rats motor function singnificantly.
