AIDS is an acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, which is caused byHIV(human immunodeficiency virus). It makes CD4 counts down and makesbody s immunodeficiency .It causes a series of complex syndromes, suchas many opportunity infections and cancers. There is no cure on AIDS in the world, AIDS with a long latent periodand transmit quickly has became a mainly terrible problem. The researchon treatment of AIDS in TCM is on the primary stage, lacking of masssamples of clinical trail , no criterion of the efficacy, and the weaknessof the research on experiment. According to the theory of yuan qi in TCM we observed TCM syndromeswith 72 cases and tongues with 218 cases, to analyze the pathogenesisand its evolutive regulars, as well as to research CD4 CD8 CD45RA+ + +count s changes, to investigate the relativity between yuan qideficiency and immune function, to explore the bases of immune cell ofyuan qi and microcosmic different syndromes. The program is one of thenational scientific tackle key project, using supplement qi and nourishyin and clearing away heat and toxic material method treating 63 HIV/AIDSwith double blind, random, control group clinical research, finding thedeficiency of yuan qi is the important pathogenesis of AIDS. In order to find the development of yuan qi theory in TCM, firstlywe consulted all interrelated literatures. Secondly, we explored therelation between yuan qi and AIDS on the basis of our clinicalexperience. From these researches, we found the infections epidemicdiseases happening ,developing, pathogenesis, prognosis is determinedby the deficiency and excess of yuan qi, such as AIDS. We observed the TCM syndromes of 72 cases by the clinicalepidemiology crossing method, analyzing the results we found that morethan half patients had fever, tired, spontaneous perspiration night sweat, anorexia emaciated, cough, diarrhea and so on. Slippery pulse, threadypulse, kinds of feebly pulses are all appeared in these patients. Thesyndromes of red tongue, deep red tongue, lingua geographica, curdytongue coating are very ordinary in these patients by analyzing the 218cases, which has a significance between HIV/AIDS patients and normalpersons.(P<0.0001).These research shows that the pathogenesis of AIDSin TCM is deficiency complicated with excess; involving tri-jiao;摘要 Vincluding wei ,qi ,ying ,xue; deficiency qi, wue ,yin ,yang .The regularof syndrome is complex with yin and yang ,fever and cold ,deficiency andexcess. Analyzing the TCM syndromes of 72 cases we find that all of thesepatients had fever, turbid pathogenic factor accounting for 81.95%;blood stasis accounting for 44.44%; deficiency yin accounting for62.50%; deficiency qi accounting for 63.89%; deficiency yangaccounting for 13.89%. These results showed that TCM syndrome of AIDSis caused by accumulation of heat in the interior, deficiency of both qiand yin, body resistance weakened while pathogenic factors prevailing, deficiency complicated with excess. There is a affinity between deficient qi and the body s immunefunction deficiency by the relativity research of TCM syndrome and immunefunction. T cell counts is very important for the feedback of immunefunction, which also may be a index for deficient qi. In thesepatientswho stagnated blood were more serious on stagnated blood withthe development of AIDS. Using the methods of supplementing qi and nourishing yin, clearingaway heat and toxic material in treating 63 cases with double blind, random, control clinical trial, we primarily discovered the Chinese therapeusis(supplementing qi and nourishing yin and clearing away heat and toxicmaterial) maybe reduce viral load, enhance the body s immune functionand improve patients symptoms. Though these exploration we think that the TCM pathogenesis of AIDSis deficiency complicated with excess...
