We evaluated dietary fiber properties of some feeds in pig diets in vitro fermentation.According to results in vitro ,sugar beet pulp and alfalfa hay meal were selected as main fiber souces in a tested diet,we studied on effect on digestive physiology and productivity of piglets, growing pigs and finishing pigs in feeding and slaughter trails. The purpose of this thesis was to gain some basic data for dietary fiber nutrition in monogastric animal with an aim at proper utilizing fibrous feeds in pig diets. 1.Study on composition and characters of dietary fiber for pigs Maize, meal, barley, wheat bran, soybean meal, rapeseed meal, alfalfa hay meal, sugar beet pulp and paddy shell were used to study dietary fiber composition and characters.Crude fiber, netural detegent fiber(NDF),acid detegent fiber(ADF),cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin contents in those feeds were analysed.NDF were extracted from nine feeds used as fibrous substrates, which were incubated for 6,12 and 24h with feces from piglets, growing pigs and finishing pigs, fiber disappearce and VFA were analysed. The results showed:(l)different fiber composition were singnificant different.Compared with other fiber parameters,NDF could be better to represent dietary fiber composition.(2)Different fiber characters were significant different among these feeds, fiber disappearce of sugar beet pulp and alfalfa hay meal were greater than puddy shell and sugar beet pulp and alfalfa hay meal mixture were selected as main fiber sources in the tested diet.the mix proportion of sugar beet pulp and alfalfa hay meal was 7:3.(3)Fiber disappearance and VFA production were lowest at 6 and 12h,the greater change occured between 12 and 24h.fiber disappearance with feces from piglets was greatest at 24h. 2.Study on effect of dietary fiber on digestive physiology and productivity of piglets Ninty piglets(Duroc X Landrac X Jia, 12kg ?0. 35) were used to study effect of dietary fiber in a piglets diet, dividing into control group, treatment 1 ,treatment 2 by weight and sex. The dietary percentage of NDF of three groups were 10.61%,13.55% and 20.15%(percentage of crude fiber were 3%,4.5% and 6% repectively). The final weight was 3Okg.According to feeding and slaughter trail, the results showed dietary fiber had a trophic effect on the digestive system in piglets,it could improve carcass quality and cure diarrhea. There were no significant differences in daily gain,fInal weight, daily feed intake and feed conversion between control group and treatment group(P>O.05).Compared with control group, dietary fiber decreased significantly apparent digestibilities of energy, diy matter and crude protein (P<0.05);digestibilties of NDF and ADF were significantly increased(P
