The modern product manufacturing industry is the primal foundation of national economy, the research on improving manufacturing factories' production efficiency is always emphasized widely. With the development of market economy, manufacturing factories have to improve their design and product efficiency, quicken the period of products to market and lower the manufacturing cost to adapt the market competition, and to get survived and developed. It's very important to improve the integrality and continuity of machinery product's information model, connecting the producing tasks of all phases of a product's lifecycle as a whole based on a product information model, making critical phases of a product's development established on a general product information model.Bring forward a new concept of Product Information Model for Product Lifecycle (PIMPL) based on the analysis of a product's forming process. The whole model is made up of several typical phases' model of a product's lifecycle. Describe the meaning of every phase model of product's lifecycle and their three levels organization structure: application level, data objects level and data level, expatiate the logical relations and data organization mode for three levels. Completely explain the characteristics of PIMPL.Research the structure of the product rapid design system based on the PIMPL and the system's working mode and its integration technology. Point out that the logical data structure management is the key of the system integration. And based on the PIMPL, bring out the system integration structure of PDM with rapid design, rapid quotation and rapid manufacturing, probe into the system working flow and data management, analysis the data structure of PDM/RDS/RQS/RMS/ERP integration.For the product rapid design system based on the PIMPL, research the realization technology and methods of rapid design. Bring out modularization product rapid design technology based on KBE, analysis the characteristic and advantage of it. Expound the knowledge modeling process of modularization products, analysis the source, classification, expression of knowledge and object oriented modularization product knowledge model. Expatiate the hierarchy of the knowledge model; bring out the data structure model of knowledge frame model. Research the product design rapid reasoning technology based on the knowledge, including product module matching and module parameters calculation; give the process and algorithm of module matching and parameters calculation. Bring out the polymorphic integration mode of product module knowledge frame model and CAD model; research the realization technology of the interface between two models. Apply KBE based modularization rapid design technology on a typical machinery product - metal forming machines, show the system going and the optimization of rapid design.Research the realization technology and method of product rapid quotation in rapid design system based on PIMPL. Analysis the quotation characteristics of manufacturing industry and the composing factor of quotation price. Bring out product rapid quotation system based on modularization design outputs. Analysis the design cost, material cost and manufacturing cost of products, bring out product module manufacturing feature information model, get product module's manufacture cost by connecting the module and its manufacturing feature. Analysis the non-cost factors of quotation price, and research the quotation calculation under the influence of cost and non-cost factors.Research the methodology of product rapid manufacturing; bring out product rapid manufacturing system based on product module manufacturing feature information model. Analysis the structure of the system, expound the model's establishment theory and methods. Based on this model, analysis the manufacture plan selection and optimization of process planning. Research the machining code generation method of product module's feature model, expatiate the optimization of NC code. Research the manufacturing of complex models, such as finger print.Finally, research product rapid manufacturing realization and introduce a writer participated business CAD/CAM/CAPP software IE-CAM. Analysis the methodology and data organization of alternant feature modeling and parametric modeling in IE-CAM. Explain the feature modeling process and automatically feature recognition. Expatiate the case based reasoning of process planning, analysis the static and dynamic database in IE-CAM. Analysis the cutting simulation and NC code generation of tool path..
