Single screw compressor is the third–generation displacement compressor following thepiston compressor and twin screw compressor. The manufacturing technique of itsspecial vertical meshing pairs composed of rotor screw and gate rotors is specialtechnology of every machining enterprise in the world. At present,few foreigncorporations of England, Japan, USA and France monopolize this technology. In ourcountry,the theoretical study and design standards of single screw compressors havereached the world's advanced level.But in machining area, some domestickey processingskills Is still a certain gap c ompared with similar foreign products. Thus we can notcarry out the stable production for a long time. Therefore the improvement ofmanufacturing technology and machining methods of screw rotor and gate rotor isthe most pressing problem at present .Aiming at the domestic status,this paper makes further scientific researcheson the manufacturing technology of single screw compressor meshing pairs intwo aspects of theory and practice,and accomplished the researches,including thebasic researches,such as milling princple,spatial enveloping method,thermal plasticityforming theory,and so on,and the application researches,such as numeric emulation,test processing,etc..This paper makes the profound analysis of meshing motion between screw and gaterotors,and puts forward a kind of new technique,that is enveloping milling the spiralgroove surface on the NC milling center..The NC servicing structure was designedand manufactured,which put this new processing technique into effect,and thedevelopment work of the rotor screw was finished. In this paper,the characteristicmodel of spiral meshing pairs of single screw compressor was established,and theforming process was studied. At the mean time,numerical emulation for spiralgroove curved surface was carried out.Based on the research on the milling technology for complex helical surface,by thetheory of meshing pairs motion and the characteristic of macromolecule material gaterotors,this paper presents a kind of original new manufacturing technique of gate rotorstooth profile,that is"motion meshing die"which forms the tooth profile by die pressingwithout cutting.
