Unusually lucky in modern communications, expressways represent speed and efficiency. They have become a symbol of overall national strength and one of the important indicators of modernized national economy. Based on the expressway network planning & layout of China "7918", the expressway network planning of Hunan employs a layout with crossbar grids to constitute a crisscross artery. It totals approximately 5,500 kilometers, over 50% of them in mountain areas. Up to now, 3,511 kilometers will be constructed. So, in the next 30 years, there will be a relatively long way to go in the expressway construction of Hunan. Therefore, it is difficulty and importance on safety protection measurements, prediction and forecast and treatment of expressways slope. My research is mainly about landslides dynamic course and stability, and gets a target of prediction and forecast on highway landslides. The main achievements is as follows: By studying the engineering geologic conditions of the highways in Hunan, we hold that Hunan stretches across the Yangtze landmass and the South China landmass. Besides, Hunan is located in the transition land between the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and the hills south of the Yangtze River and that between the Nanling mountain and the Jianghan Plateau. In this transition land, greatly changing topography, diversified landforms, and complex engineering geologic conditions provoke geologic disasters, especially landslides. Also, we have realized that with continuous development of high-grade expressway construction in Hunan will provokes geologic disasters to a large number of slopes. In particular, the formation of cut slopes will probably lead to different levels of landslides.Besides the research on present landslide disasters of the expressways in Hunan, this article fully expounds intrinsic factors, such as geology, structure, landforms, and hydrological geology. It also expounds extrinsic factors, such as climatic conditions, earthquakes, and people's engineering construction; it explores the dynamic features of expressway...
