With the fast development of national economy and the improvement of people's living level, aluminum profile products are getting wider employment in many fields, such as railway, aviation and aerospace, boats and ships, construction, automobile, communication equipment, machine manufacture, sports equipment, furniture and decoration. All countries in the world regard aluminum alloy and its industry as the important developing direction. Aluminum profiles' variant specifications and extrusion dies' fierce working conditions due to complex material flow status make the aluminum extrusion products' exploitation and die design a very difficult task. The traditional manufacture style in which experience and trial-correct course are relied on cannot satisfy the request of modern economic development. Under the market economy environment in which efficiency is the life and quality is the key point, aluminum profile extrusion factories pay great attention to improving the success rate of die design and manufacture, and they are in urgent need of reliable scientific theory to guide the process and die design. Numerical simulation technique can imitate the material flow processes, gain the distribution and variation of physical variables such as velocity, stress and strain, pressure, etc, by which the feasibility of the process and die structure parameter design can be analized. Corrections can be made in time if needed to take the place of time and effort consumptive trial-correct courses. This is an effective scientific theoretical means to guide the extrusion manufacture practice with no doubt. At the present paper the key technique and modeling method of aluminum extrusion process finite volume numerical simulation, and the special software is developed self-dependently.
