With the competition in the garment industry becoming more intense, there is an increasing demand for garment style innovation. In existing garment CAD, because of the limitations such as complex operation, isolated design process and the high professional requirements, it is hard to catch design inspirations or to express design idea, so, the creative design demand can not be supported well. Therefore, to study the creative design method for garment style has important significance.Based on current research status of GCAD systems, this paper presented series templates coupling based 3D garment style creative design method. Three design templates called Semantic template, geometry template and constraint template are offered to generate and edit garment style in sketch based method or hybrid method. The garment style is reused by mapping the feature information between human template and garment style template. The garment style is evolved based on the coupling of genetic template and style template.A multi design templates based garment style generation method is proposed. By analyzing the 3D garment style design patterns, the design templates are constructed which included semantic template, geometric template and constrain template. The freeform creative design pattern is conducted in sketch method based on operation semantic and geometry semantic. The reference creative design pattern is conducted by establish the typical geometric template, and then the style is generated by the combination of sketch elements and parameter elements. We abstract constraints between the style elements to establish constrain template, then edit the garment style by solving the constraint graph.3D garment style reusing method based on the coupling of virtual human template and style template is proposed. The virtual human features of size, figure and posture are extracted and virtual human template is established. The virtual human template deformation method driven by human features is proposed. The garment style is divided into three levels to construct garment style template. Style elements are encoded by the relationship of human feature and garment style feature. The geometric rules, order rules and collision rules are established to make sure of the correctness of style reusing. Style template retains the feature of garment 3D shape and the mapping information on the human body. When style template is applied to other human, the template is decoded into geometry information to reconstruct garment according to the new virtual human features.A garment style evolution method based on the coupling of style template and genetic template is proposed. The genetic template is constructed of garment style coupling layer and genetic operation layer. In garment style coupling layer, we design data structure fitting for the 3D operation in genetic algorithm and establish the garment style library, a style component pointer based encode method is adopted to connect the information between 3D style and genetic operation. In genetic operation layer, the interactive genetic algorithm is adopted and genetic operation is improved. The use of interactive evaluation for each style component is more accurate to get fitness evaluation.Finally, the research results are applied into the 3D garment style design system LookStailorX. A lot of 3D garment style examples are presented. |
