Interaction of heavy ions of highly charged state with metallic solid and its surface was studied. Two aspects were studied. One is neutralization of HCI on metallic surfaces and the other one is inner shell x-ray production from metallic target by HCI at low incident energies. This thesie includes the following parts:1. The intoduction and research backgound the interaction HCI with solid and its surface.2. Neutralization of Ar16+ at Mo and Be surfaces.3. L-shell x-ray production from molybdenum solid target bombarded by xenon ions with charged state from 25+ to 30+ in the low energy range (350 keV to 600 keV).
