Imaging processing model has to be profoundly researched in the development of digital aerial cameras and project applications. The differences between imaging models are the basis of designing various style digital aerial cameras. With considering such factors as space geometric resolution, image covering area, color imaging, and so on, this paper discusses in detail many things of large format CCD digital aerial camera. These are imaging theory model and processing techniques, experiments of testing systems and the correctness and feasibility of theory model. The main contents of this paper are these as follows:1. Analyzing and summarizing systematically the primary digital aerial cameras' classification, application area, structure and imaging theories. Building the imaging model of our country's first practical large format CCD digital aerial camera. The key parameters of large format CCD digital aerial camera have been designed detailedly.2. The geometric joining model of multi-module array CCD images has been researched. Under the circumstances that terrain fluctuation, aerial flight height and similar factors are considered, analyzing in detail the joining error of fictitious image, which joined by lots of small CCD images and having the same projection center, and the influence of joining error to measuring precision. The basic theory of composite image of large format CCD aerial camera has been founded.3. Against to various bad effects caused by large format CCD chip, we use various filter methods to decreases the defect pixels existing in images. Defect pixels have been corrected through point computing functions. We endow images with great visualization effect through a process of bit regulation and enhancement of CCD images.4. The paper put forward the simulative moving blurred image splice algorithm based on the analysis of random sequence. It can eliminate scabbed gaps, which brought by parallel transferring of image data through various channels. Experiments have proved that this algorithm can effectively keep a consistent contrast and brightness in various joined strip images.5. We have designed and realized a set of component software system to process the data of large format CCD aerial camera. Based on the system analysis and structure analysis, we introduce the software engineering developing modeling technique to this system.
