Ionospheric physics is considered as an experimental science. Ionospheric observations have been playing an important role in the ionospheric research. It has been shown from ionospheric development history that the new sounding techniques or methods always strongly promote the development of ionospheric physics research. In ionospheric observations, the sounding and diagnosis of ionospheric disturbances are a significant content since it is very important to understand the process of energy propagation and dissipation in the ionosphere. The main task of this thesis is to develop some new HF probing and analysis method, which include digital sounding system of HF Doppler and angle of arrival as well as vertical multi-frequency with high accurate Doppler sounding model based on digital ionosonde. The detail content is arranged as below:Firstly, this paper introduces a new set of digital sounding system of HF Doppler shift and the angle of arrival.The system is composed of microcomputer,data acquisition unit, HF program controlling receiver with high frequency stability and an antenna array. The main features of the system are receiving frequencies,sampling parameters and working modes etc. can all be controlled by the micro computer, and the Doppler shift and the angle of arrival of the ionospheric echo wave can be measured and displayed in real time for monitoring the ionospheric environment. Simultaneously, all raw data can be stored in the computer for analyzing off line to meet different demands of investigating ionosphere.Secondly, the paper presents a vertical multiple frequency sounding technique of ionospheric disturbances by using the digital ionosonde.
