On the basis of the systematic analysis and theoretical study, this dissertation elaborately introduces the basic principle of static, wide field of view, high throughput polarization interference imaging spectroscopy, development of Ultra- compact Static Polarization Interference Imaging Spectrometer (USPIIS), experiment of interference imaging spectroscopy and application of interference imaging spectroscopy on upper atmospheric wind field measurement. Which prime establish the foundation for developing the interference imaging spectrometer and interference imaging spectroscopy carried on the satellite (or aeroplane )in theory, technology and experiment aspects, etc. It opens a new road to China抯 space-flight and aviation. The dissertation contains the following six parts: 1. On the theoretical study of Polarization Interference Imaging Spectroscopy (PItS) Static, wide field of view, high throughput polarization interference imaging spectroscopy based on Savart polariscope抯 lateral shearing has been proposed for the first time in the world. Construction and beam split principle of lateral shearing beam-splitter based on Savart polariscope and field of view compensated Savart polariscope, angle shearing beam-splitter with regard to Wollaston prism and wide angle Wollaston prism are introduced respectively, the formulas for calculating shearing displace- ment and optic path difference are also given in this part. 2. On the study of Ultra-compact Static Polarization Interference Imaging Spectrometer (USPIIS) A Ultra-compact Static Polarization Interference Imaging Spectrometer(USPIIS)抯 experiment device based on a Savart polariscope has been developed by ourself Simulation push-broom experiment has been done in the laboratory, and a series of interferograms, target images and reconstructed spectrum have been obtained. Such a high throughput polarization interference imaging spectrometer has not been reported in the world up to now. The International Conference on Application of Photonic Technology(ICAPT) (2000.6, Quebec, Canada) specially invited the author to make a report on this subject entitled 揝tatic Polarization Interference Imaging Spectro- meter(SPIIS)?on the basis of the author抯 research achievement. 3. On the study of Static Larger Field of View Polarization Interference Imaging Spectrometer (SLPIIS) 3 ABSTRACT An innovative principle and scheme on static large field of view polarization interference imaging spectrometer (SLPIIS) based on the field of view compensated Savart polariscope is put forward on the basis of USPIIS, by means of field of view compensation. The Split principle, imaging and wide angle compensated principle have been expounded and proved. 4. Analysis and research on the modulation depth and throughput of USPIIS and SLPIIS. The modulation depth and throughput of USPIIS and SLPIIS抯 interferograxn were analyzed and calculated quantitatively in theory for the first time; Concise formulas of modulation depth and throughput to deviation of polarized (or optic axis抯)direction are given. 5.
