Objective:Observation on the effect of auricular plaster therapy combined with humanistic care on depression status and immune function in patients with advanced malignant tumor, and evaluations on the clinical efficacy and safety of auricular plaster therapy.Methods:1 The first part of study was performed as a clinical investigations study which involved 98 cases who were diagnosed as advanced malignant tumor.Based on the Hamilton Depression Scale,it will be assessed that of depression status of each case and the correlation between cancer-related depression and various factors, and then measure the T lymphocyte subsets of patients(CD3~+,CD4~+,CD8~+and CD4~+/CD8~+)to further assess the correlation between immune function and depression scores.2 In the second part of study was performed as randomized control study which involved 76patients with moderate-severe cancer-related depression who were divided into two groups:the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group was treated with auricular plaster therapy combined with humanistic care, while the control group was treated with humanistic care alone. After two weeks, the efficacy was assessed.Results:1 Age,gender, marital status and education level of cancer patients were not related to cancer-related depression(P>0.05),but was related to marriage status and cancer types(P<0.05).HAMD scores of tumor patients were negatively correlated with appetite, sleep, fatigue and pain scores(P<0.05).2 HAMD scores of cancer patients was negatively correlated with the subsets of T lymphocytes CD3~+,CD4~+,and CD4~+/CD8~+(P<0.05),and was positively correlated with CD8+T subset(P<0.05).3.After two weeks of treatment, control group received improvement on the scores of depressive disorder, restlessness, flank pain, belching, poor appetite, stool changes prior to treatment. The scores of experimental group on various symptoms has received improvement prior to treatment.the improvement of scores of depressive disorder, restlessness, and chest fullness was significantly better than the control group(P<0.05).4.After treatment, the symptoms of poor appetite, sleep problem, fatigue and pain in the two groups were improved, and the experimental group was better than the control group in improvements of sleep and pain(P<0.05);the QOL scores were increased, and the experimental group was better than the control group(P<0.05);HAMD and SDS scores were decreased, the experimental group was better than the control group(P<0.05).5.After treatment, the proportion of CD3~+and CD4~+T cells and the ratio of CD4~+/CD8~+increased in the experimental group. The proportion of CD8~+T cells decreased, but there was no statistical significance.Conclusion:1.Cancer-related depression has nothing to do with the age, gender and education level of patients with advanced malignant tumors, and is related to marriage status and cancer types. The HAMD score of patients with advanced malignant tumors was negatively correlated with appetite, sleep, fatigue, and pain scores. The worse appetite, worse the quality of sleep, the stronger fatigue, and more severe the pain may lead to more severe depression.2.The HAMD score of patients with advanced tumors is negatively correlated with their CD3~+,CD4~+T cell ratio,CD4~+/CD8~+ratio,and positively correlated with CD8~+T cell ratio.3.Auricular plaster therapy combined with humanistic care can improve the clinical symptoms of patients with advanced malignant tumors, increase their QOL score, improve the patient’s quality of life, reduce the HAMD and SDS scores, ease the patient’s depression.
