Clinical Study On The Treatment Of Optic Atrophy (liver Depression And Qi Stagnation Syndrome) In Open-angle Glaucoma With Zuo's Xingshen Mingmu Acupunctur

Purpose: The clinical efficacy of Zuo’s acupuncture on optic nerve atrophy in glaucoma(liver depression and stagnation)was observed,and its effectiveness was evaluated.Approach:72 patients diagnosed with glaucoma optic nerve atrophy(liver depression and stagnation)and visual acuity were randomly divided into control group and experimental group with 36 cases,and the experimental group underwent Zuo’s acupuncture method for acupuncture treatment,leaving the needle for 30 minutes,once a day,the control group was a blank control,and both groups were given conventional basic treatment for 4 weeks.BCVA(Best Corrected Visual Acuity)was recorded before,2 weeks and 4 weeks after treatment;Visual field index(VFI)and mean visual field defect(PSD)are recorded by the visual field instrument;OCT records optic nerve fiber layer thickness;Before and after treatment,the scores were based on the TCM syndrome scoring standard.Results:1.The average age of the experimental group was 59.00(52.00～64.75)years;The average age of the control group was 54.50(50.25～62.75)years.There was no statistically significant difference in age between groups(P>0.05).2.Compared with before treatment after 4 weeks of treatment,the improvement rate of patients in the experimental group was 72.2%,and the improvement rate of patients in the control group was 36.1%,which was higher than that of the control group,and there was a statistically significant difference in the efficacy before and after the two treatment regimens(P<0.05).3.BCVA was increased in both groups compared with their baseline before treatment(P<0.05),and BCVA increased more in the experimental group after treatment than in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.VFI after treatment in both groups was increased compared with their own pre-treatment baseline(P<0.05).VFI was statistically significant between the experimental group and the control group(P<0.05).5.The PSD after treatment in the experimental group decreased significantly compared with the baseline before self-treatment(P<0.05).The difference between PSD before and after treatment in the control group was not statistically significant(P>0.05).6.The absolute value of MD after treatment in both groups decreased significantly compared with their own pre-treatment baseline(P<0.05).The comparison of MD between the experimental group and the control group after treatment was statistically significant(P<0.05).7.There was no significant difference between RNFL after treatment and their own pre-treatment baseline(P>0.05),and there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).8.After the treatment of the two groups,the score of GOA TCM syndrome was significantly reduced compared with the baseline(P<0.05).The GOA TCM syndrome score in the experimental group decreased by 5.08±1.67 compared with the baseline,the control group decreased by 0.72±1.75,the total effective rate in the experimental group was 94.4%,and the control group was 16.7%,and the GOA TCM symptom score in the experimental group was significantly reduced(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Zuo’s Awakening Eye Acupuncture treatment can effectively improve the best corrected vision.2.Zuo’s Awakening Acupuncture treatment can effectively improve the state of visual field.3.The effect of Zuo’s awakening acupuncture on the thickness of the retinal nerve fiber layer is not obvious.4.Zuo’s Awakening Acupuncture treatment can improve the medical symptoms of patients and reduce the patient’s signs.
