Research On The Nursery In Xi'an During The Republic Of Chin

In historical periods,people of all ethnic groups thrived on the vast land of our country.This land has supported generations of people.People of all ethnic groups have created countless brilliant civilizations together.However,in a sense,the destruction of the natural ecological environment has become the price of the glorious civilization that lasted for thousands of years in the historical period.The destruction of forest resources is one of the important aspects.After entering modern times,Western powers looted our country’s forest resources arbitrarily,endless wars destroyed the few remaining forest resources,and social demand continued to increase…The destruction of our country’s forest resources is becoming more and more serious.Fortunately,since the end of the Qing Dynasty,the trend of paying attention to forestry had spread throughout our country.People of insight in society had begun to vigorously advocate,actively write books and devote themselves to practice.Afforestation movement had spread throughout the country.Tree planting and afforestation need to raise seedlings first.Therefore,an adequate supply of seedlings is essential.As a garden for cultivating seedlings,the nursery assumes this important task,but it is most easily overlooked.As an important practitioner of forestry and the most basic forestry unit,all aspects of the nursery’s work are worth exploring,and its living conditions are also worthy of restoring.In this way,we can have a more detailed understanding of the real face of the development of forestry in the Republic of China,and understand the difficulties in the process of forestry development in the Republic of China.This article will draw on archives,newspapers,periodicals,local chronicles and other materials from the Republic of China period,take the key cityXi’an,Shaanxi Province as an example,focus on the nurseries in the suburbs of Xi’an during the Republic of China as the research object.And this article attempts to restore the micro-historical history of Xi’an nurseries in the Republic of China,such as the changes,living conditions,and work done,in order to show the truest forestry history.This article is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is about the development process and the time and space changes of Shaanxi nursery during the Republic of China.During the period of the Republic of China,both the Beiyang Government and the Nanjing National Government changed their administrative institutions in charge of forestry more frequently.In this case,the forestry authority in Shaanxi Province has also been adjusted.Nurseries are mostly established by forestry institutions.Due to the special chronological environment of the Republic of China,the development of nurseries in Shaanxi Province experienced ups and downs during the Republic of China.The spatial and temporal distribution of nurseries at different stages are not the same.On the other hand,although there are differences in the location of nurseries in Shaanxi Province,there are certain rules to follow.The second chapter is about the changes of Xi’an nursery in the Republic of China.Xi’an is the most important city in Shaanxi Province,and the development of Xi’an nursery is also the most typical and representative.The development history of Chengnan Nursery,Maoling Nursery,Zhaoling Nursery,Revolution Park Nursery,Taiyechi Nursery,Cuihuashan-South Wutai Nursery,and Chang’an County Nursery has its own characteristics,and the development situation is different.But hardships and twists are the common theme.The third chapter is the budget and funds,personnel and salary of Xi’an nursery in the Republic of China.The reason why Xi’an nursery was difficult to develop in the Republic of China was directly due to insufficient budget and shortage of funds.Taking Chengnan Nursery,Maoling Nursery,Zhaoling Nursery and Taiyechi Nursery as examples,insufficient budget and shortage of funds are normal,and the shortage of various staff in the nursery is also normal.Both of them were exposed to the development of the nursery with various problems.Under the shortage of funds,the salary of nursery staff is also at a relatively low level in various industries.This may be the main reason for frequent changes in nursery staff.The fourth chapter is about the Xi’an nursery’s work of cultivating seedlings during the Republic of China.In the case of shortage of manpower and financial resources,the nursery work of cultivating seedlings is extremely difficult to carry out.From seeds to seedlings to tall trees,the nursery must be devoted to maintenance,and must be strictly prevented from damage and overcome various difficulties.In the end,they can become large trees beside the road,in the historic site,in the garden,in front of and behind the house.The shortage of funds has become increasingly serious,and the nursery can only change the direction of its work,from nursery to agricultural production.The sale of agricultural products has become an important source of income for the nursery,in order to maintain the only remaining seedling work.The fifth chapter is the interaction between Xi’an nursery and peasant groups during the Republic of China.The location of the nursery must be in a place with flat land,fertile soil and convenient irrigation.But such land is often already opened up as farmland.When the agricultural land was transformed into forestry land,the nursery and the farmers began to entangle their interests,resulting in various interactions.Renting land for seedling raising and purchasing land for seedling raising are two different modes of transformation.The interaction between nursery and farmer groups under these two models is quite different.Under the influence of various factors,the interaction between nurseries and farmers is long,large in scale,and frequent changes.This article focuses on nurseries neglected by forestry researchers,and strives to restore the living conditions of the nurseries in Xi’an during the Republic of China and the difficulties of nursery nursery,so as to add the most authentic micro-history to the forestry research of the Republic of China.
