Objective:A survey was conducted to understand the current situation of burnout among nursing staff in a ward of a tertiary general hospital in Shanxi Province under the closed-loop management of COVID-19 epidemic normalization prevention and control,to analyze the factors influencing burnout and the correlation between social support, coping style and burnout, and to explore the mediating effect of coping style between social support and burnout in order to provide countermeasure suggestions for improving their burnout. Methods:A convenience sampling method was used to select 673 ward nursing staff in a tertiary general hospital in Shanxi Province as the study population, and the nursing staff were surveyed using the General Information Questionnaire,Burnout Scale,Coping Style Scale, and Social Support Scale in the form of a web-based questionnaire. The data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0,and the factors influencing burnout were analyzed using c2 test and logistic regression.Pearson correlation was used to analyze the correlation between social support, coping style and burnout, and structural equation models were constructed by Amos 24.0 software and tested using Bootstrap method.Results:1.Burnout among nursing staff on the ward was 98(14.6%)for severe burnout;270(40.1%)for moderate burnout;164(24.3%)for mild burnout;and 141(21.0%)for no burnout. The mean score of social support of nursing staff in the ward was(4.96±1.10).The mean score of positive coping was(1.88±0.52)and the mean score of negative coping was(1.33±0.58).2.Social support included three dimensions positively correlated with positive coping(P < 0.01)and negatively correlated with exhaustion and negative coping of burnout(P <0.01);positive coping was negatively correlated with exhaustion(P < 0.01);and negative coping was positively correlated with exhaustion(P < 0.01).logistic regression analysis showed that age(β=-0.050,OR=0.952),sleep >8h/d under regular prevention and control(β=-1.746,OR=0.174),willingness to continue nursing work(β=-1.078,OR=0.340),3night shifts/week(β=1.227,OR=3.411),very high workload under regular prevention and control(β= 1.163,OR=3.201),fair(β=0.986,OR=2.679)and poor(β=1.524,OR=4.592)health status and low social support were the influencing factors of burnout. The coping style of nursing staff on the ward mediated the effect between social support and burnout, with a mediating effect of 31.2%.Conclusions:(1)Burnout among nursing staff in this hospital under the closed-loop management of the epidemic’s regular prevention and control wards is high, and social support needs to be improved.(2)Age,sleep>8h/d under regular prevention and control, and willingness to continue nursing work were protective factors for burnout;3night shifts/week,high workload under regular prevention and control, fair and poor health status and low social support were risk factors for burnout.(3)Social support was associated with coping style and burnout, social support was a negative predictor of burnout, and social support could indirectly affect burnout through positive coping and negative coping, with coping style having a partially mediating role.
