Clinical Study Of Jieyu Tongru Prescription For Treating Cancer-related Fatigue In Stage Ⅰ-Ⅲ Breast Cancer Patients

ObjectiveTo explore the clinical efficacy and safety of Jieyu Tongru Prescription in treating cancer-related fatigue in stage I-III breast cancer patients through clinical observation of oral administration of Jieyu Tongru Prescription.This study aims to provide evidence for the clinical application and promotion of Jieyu Tongru Prescription.MethodsIn this study,a self-controlled method was adopted.Sixty patients with cancer-related fatigue who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria in stage I-III breast cancer were included.They were given Jieyu Tongru Prescription orally(Radix Bupleuri 10 g,Angelica sinensis 15 g,Radix Paeoniae Alba 15 g,Poria cocos 20 g,Radix Paeoniae Rubra 15 g,Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae stir-fried with bran 20 g,Cyperus rotundus 10 g,Radix Curcumae 10 g,Radix Salivae Miltiorrhizae 15 g,Hedyotis diffusa 10 g,Solanum lyratum 10 g,Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata 10g)for two weeks,followed by a two-week follow-up.The Piper self-evaluation scale,KPS physical condition,HDA scale,EORTCQLQ-C30 scale,and liver depression and spleen deficiency symptom scale were evaluated before treatment,in the second week of treatment,and two weeks after stopping medication.Safety testing of electrocardiogram,blood routine,and liver and kidney function was performed before treatment and in the second week of treatment.ResultsThe study on the efficacy of Jieyu Tongru Prescription included 60 breast cancer patients,all of whom completed follow-up,and no adverse reaction events occurred during the trial period.1.Jieyu Tongru Prescription effectively improved the Piper Fatigue Scale score,and the differences in behavior,emotion,sensation,cognition,and total score of patients before treatment,2 weeks after treatment,and 2 weeks after discontinuation of treatment were statistically significant(P < 0.05).2.Jieyu Tongru Prescription effectively improved the Karnofsky Performance Status(KPS)score,and the differences in KPS scores of patients before treatment,2 weeks after treatment,and 2 weeks after discontinuation of treatment were statistically significant(P <0.05).3.Jieyu Tongru Prescription effectively improved the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale(HADS)score,and the differences in anxiety and depression scores of patients before treatment,2 weeks after treatment,and 2 weeks after discontinuation of treatment were statistically significant(P < 0.05).4.Jieyu Tongru Prescription effectively improved some items of the EORTC QLQ-C30 scale.Compared with before treatment,the differences in physical function,role function,cognitive function,emotional function,social function,fatigue,pain,nausea and vomiting,quality of life,dyspnea,insomnia,and appetite loss scores of patients 2 weeks after treatment and 2 weeks after discontinuation of treatment were statistically significant(P < 0.05).Compared with 2 weeks of treatment,the differences in physical function,role function,emotional function,social function,fatigue,pain,quality of life,and insomnia scores were statistically significant(P < 0.05),while the differences in cognitive function,nausea and vomiting,dyspnea,and appetite loss scores were not statistically significant(P > 0.05).The differences in constipation,diarrhea,and economic difficulties scores of patients before treatment,2 weeks after treatment,and 2 weeks after discontinuation of treatment were not statistically significant(P > 0.05).5.Jieyu Tongru Prescription effectively improved the Traditional Chinese Medicine symptom score.The differences in the liver depression and spleen deficiency syndrome score of patients before treatment,2 weeks after treatment,and 2 weeks after discontinuation of treatment were statistically significant(P < 0.05).ConclusionJieyu Tongru Prescription can effectively improve the fatigue symptoms of stage I-III breast cancer patients with liver depression and spleen deficiency syndrome,improve the functional status of patients with a KPS score of over 70,and significantly improve the anxiety and depression status of patients while improving their fatigue level.In terms of quality of life,Jieyu Tongru Prescription can significantly improve the physical,role,cognitive,emotional,and social functions,as well as quality of life,and alleviate symptoms such as fatigue,pain,dyspnea,insomnia,and appetite loss.Overall,Jieyu Tongru Prescription has long-lasting efficacy,good safety,no adverse reactions,and great clinical value,and is worth promoting.
