The agricultural production process requires high-intensity labor input, which in turn can cause serious damage to the health of farmers.Having a higher level of health is an important condition for agricultural labor to maintain stability, sustainability, and high-quality output. Therefore, implementing protective behavior by farmers in the agricultural production process can effectively reduce the adverse effects of high-intensity labor production. In addition, the protective behavior of farmers in agricultural production is mainly divided into three stages: preventive behavior before agricultural production, protective behavior during agricultural production, and post agricultural health care behavior.Any stage of farmers’ production protection behavior can have a significant impact on their health. Therefore, this article studies the pre, during, and post production protective behavior of farmers, which is beneficial for improving their health level and promoting the construction of healthy rural areas. This article takes banana growers in Hainan Province as the research object and divides their production protective behavior into three stages: pre prevention behavior, during prevention behavior, and post health care behavior.By using farmers’ behavior theory and system analysis theory, this paper combs the influencing factors and transmission paths of banana farmers’ production protection behavior.First,it analyzes the influencing factors of banana farmers’ protection behavior in the three stages of pre event, event and post event through the multivariable probit model.Second,it studies the influencing factors and marginal utility of banana farmers’ production protection intensity based on the above through the ordered probit model,Finally,by constructing an interpretive structural model(ISM)for the factors affecting the protective intensity of banana farming production, the interrelationships and hierarchical structure among the factors affecting the protective intensity of banana farming production are explored. The research conclusions are as follows:(1)Studying the protective behavior of banana farmers in the three stages of production,it was found that the adoption rate of protective behavior during the process was the highest, and the adoption rate of health care behavior after the event was the lowest;(2)Education level, physical examination cognition, agricultural information query, neighbor chronic disease situation, banana training, and abandonment experience have a positive and significant impact on banana farmers’ pre prevention behavior in agricultural production;Gender has a significant negative impact on protective behavior in banana farming, while education level and installation network have a positive impact on it;Gender and agricultural experience have a significant negative impact on post harvest health care behavior of banana, while installation of networks has a positive impact on it;(3)The transmission path of the influencing factors on the protective intensity of banana farming production follows a "three-level" ladder shape, specifically manifested as: education level, agricultural experience, and the relationship with major planting households are the deep-seated root causes;Installation of networks, abandonment experience, and annual banana income are indirect factors in the middle layer;Agricultural information query is a direct factor on the surface, which in turn forms a transmission path and ultimately affects the protective behavior of banana farmers in production.Based on the above research conclusions, this article proposes the following suggestions: firstly, the government should strengthen policy optimization, formulate stable production protection policies for rural residents, and the implementation of various policies should be tailored to local conditions and times.Secondly, through grassroots service organizations, agricultural institutions, and new media,we will enhance the promotion of agricultural production protection, conduct timely lectures on agricultural production protection knowledge, and encourage farmers to actively change their awareness of agricultural production protection. Finally, strengthen agricultural skill training and fully leverage the driving role of large planters on small farmers,in order to increase the adoption rate of production protection behaviors among small farmers. |
