| The quality of sleep directly affects one’s degree of physical and mental health, and Chinese college students have particularly acute sleep issues.Sleep is a fundamental component of human life.Aerobics as a typical aerobic exercise can effectively improve the sleep quality of college students, but the intervention effect of different exercise intensity on sleep quality needs further study. Objective: This study uses aerobics as an exercise intervention to investigate the effects of single and medium to long-term aerobic exercises of different intensities on the sleep quality of university students, and to examine the changes in biochemical index levels before and after exercise,in order to provide a theoretical and experimental basis for elucidating the improvement of sleep quality by exercise intervention and its underlying mechanisms.Research methods: literature method was used to elaborate the relevant concepts, sleep evaluation and monitoring, physiological mechanisms and exercise intervention studies to determine the research plan;questionnaire method was used to select 500 college students in Jianghan University through random sampling, and questionnaire survey was conducted with survey tools such as Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)and Physical Exercise Rating Scale;experimental method: 28 screened college students were divided into 4 groups and were subjected to different intensity of aerobics exercise intervention;mathematical and statistical methods were used to organize and statistically analyze the sleep quality data and related biochemical indicators. Results of the study:1.The questionnaire survey showed that in terms of sleep quality, the mean PSQI total score of college students at JHU was 6.08 ± 0.12,with 29.40% of college students having a PSQI ≥ 8.Among them, the sleep time score of female students(0.68 ± 0.05)was significantly lower than that of male students(0.83 ± 0.06)(p<0.05),the daytime dysfunction score of male students(1.39 ± 0.05)was significantly lower than that of female students(1.53 ± 0.05)(p<0.05),and senior students had the highest PSQI total score(6.34 ± 0.26)and the highest sleep time score(1.53 ± 0.05)(p<0.05).0.05)was significantly lower than that of female students(1.53 ± 0.05)(p<0.05),and seniors had the highest total PSQI score(6.34 ± 0.26)and the highest sleep time score(1.58 ± 0.08).In terms of physical activity,59.60% of college students maintained only a small amount of exercise or did not exercise.Among them, the total exercise score of male students(27.81±1.67)was highly significant higher than that of female students(17.36±1.10)(p<0.01),and the total exercise score of senior students(17.09±1.60)was highly significant lower than that of freshmen students(26.11±2.51)(p<0.01).The analysis of sleep quality differences between groups revealed that the total PSQI score and each sleep factor were highly significantly lower in the large exercise students than in the small exercise students(p<0.01).2.The experimental results showed that. After a single aerobic exercise, the total sleep score(83.75±0.56)was highly significant higher and the sleep time(486.25±6.47)(unit: min)was significantly higher in the moderate intensity group(p<0.05),and the comparison between the groups revealed that the change values of total sleep score and sleep time were significantly higher in the moderate intensity group than in the control group(p<0.05),and the change values of sleep time were highly significant in the high intensity group than in the The values of change in sleep time in the high intensity group were significantly higher than those in the control group(p<0.01).At the end of 4 weeks of exercise, the PSQI evaluation showed that the time to sleep was significantly lower in the moderate intensity group compared to the control group(p<0.05).After 8 weeks of exercise intervention, the total PSQI score(3.88±0.35),time to sleep score(0.50±0.19),time to sleep score(0.13±0.13)and daytime function score(1.00±0.27)were significantly lower in the medium-intensity group(p<0.05);comparison between groups revealed that the total PSQI score and time to sleep score were highly significantly lower in the medium-intensity group than in the control group(p<0.01),and the sleep time score was highly significantly lower, even significantly lower than the high intensity group(p<0.05).The results of the 8-week post-exercise smart bracelet sleep monitoring showed that the total sleep score was highly significantly higher(p<0.01)in the mediumintensity group(84.75±0.82)and significantly higher(p<0.05)in the high-intensity group(83.50±1.15)and the low-intensity group(83.80±0.97);compared with the control group,in terms of the number of awakenings,it was significantly lower in the high-intensity group(p< 0.05)and a highly significant decrease(p<0.01)in the medium-intensity group compared to the control group. In addition, the proportion of light sleep was significantly lower in the medium-intensity group than in the highintensity group(p<0.05),and the proportion of rapid eye movements and the continuity of deep sleep were significantly higher than in the high-intensity group(p<0.05).After 8 weeks of exercise, biochemical index analysis revealed that melatonin(MT)(48.19±8.58l)(unit: pg/ml)and brain-derived nerve growth factor(BDNF)(321.24±42.76)(unit: pg/ml)levels were significantly higher and inflammatory factors IL-1β,TNF-α and IL-10 levels were significantly decreased(p<0.05).Conclusions of the study:1.The sleep quality and physical exercise situation of college students in Jianghan University is not optimistic. The physical exercise of male students is better than that of female students, and the physical exercise and sleep quality of senior students are the worst;2.A single exercise of moderate intensity aerobics can significantly improve the objective sleep quality and increase the sleep time of college students;3.Eight weeks of different intensity aerobics can improve the subjective and objective sleep quality of college students, and the effect of moderate intensity exercise on sleep quality is more obvious, which can regulate the sleep structure, increase the effective The effect of moderate intensity exercise on sleep quality was more obvious, which could regulate the sleep structure, increase the effective sleep time and reduce the number of wakefulness;4.Changes in MT,BDNF and inflammatory factor levels occurred during exercise interventions for sleep, but the relationship between sleep and related biochemical indicators remains to be studied in depth. |
