Objective: By observing the clinical efficacy of paired needling with exercise in the treatment of chronic non-specific low back pain and comparing it with conventional acupuncture,we explore a more significant and lasting way to treat this disease and provide a new treatment idea and method for it.Methods: A total of 60 patients with chronic non-specific low back pain were collected in this study, all of whom attended the outpatient clinic and treatment area of the Department of Acupuncture of Jilin Provincial Hospital. The group was randomly divided into a treatment group(paired needling with exercise)and a control group(conventional acupuncture),with 30 cases in both groups. Both groups were treated once daily,5 times for1 course of treatment,1 day of rest after 1 course of treatment, and 2 consecutive courses of treatment.Data on the Visual Analog Scale(VAS)and the Oswestry Disability Index(ODI)were observed and collected before and after recording the treatment. And followed up 1month after treatment to evaluate the recurrence rate.Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 21.0 to compare the difference in efficacy between the two groups.Results:1、The gender, age, disease duration,VAS score, and ODI of the two groups were statistically analyzed before treatment, and the general data of the two groups were not statistically different(P > 0.05)and were comparable.2.Comparison of VAS scores within both groups showed a significant decrease(P <0.01)compared to the pre-treatment period, indicating that both modalities reduced pain.Comparison between groups after treatment showed that the decrease in VAS scores was better in both treatment groups than in the control group(P < 0.05),indicating that paired needling with exercise was superior to conventional acupuncture in relieving low back pain.3.Comparison of ODI within the two groups showed a significant decrease(P < 0.01)compared with that before treatment, indicating that both modalities improved lumbar spine function.Comparison between groups after treatment showed that the decrease in ODI in the treatment group was better than that in the control group(P < 0.05),indicating that paired needling with exercise was superior to conventional acupuncture in improving lumbar spine function.4.The total rate of effectiveness was much more for the treatment group(93.10%)than for the control group(86.20%).P < 0.05 indicated that the combined efficacy of paired needling with exercise was better than that of conventional acupuncture. At the follow-up 1month after treatment, the total effective rate of the treatment group(89.66%)was better than that of the control group(82.76%).P < 0.05 indicated that the efficacy of paired needling with exercise was more durable and stable than that of conventional acupuncture. Conclusion: Both paired needling with exercise and conventional acupuncture were effective in relieving the symptoms of CNLBP.Paired needling with exercise was always better than conventional acupuncture in relieving pain and restoring lumbar spine function in patients with CNLBP,and the overall efficacy was better. This treatment can improve the efficacy and reduce recurrence, which is a new idea and method that is worthy of further research and promotion.
