Objective: Using primary dysmenorrhea patients with evidence of cold clotting and blood stasis as a carrier, the differences in infrared thermography(IRT)temperature and ultraweak photon emission(UPE)energy metabolism between the representative acupoints(Guanyuan and Sanyinjiao)of primary dysmenorrhea patients and their paracentral openings at 2 cm were observed by applying IRT and biological UPE to explore the specificity of representative acupoints of primary dysmenorrhea patients from a biophysical perspective, which provides a basis for acupoint. This will add new and powerful evidence to the study of acupoint specificity and lay the foundation for elucidating the biophysical specificity of acupoints. Methods: This study was conducted from January 2021 to October 2022 to observe the clinical trial in the included patients with primary dysmenorrhea of cold coagulation and blood stasis.A digital medical infrared thermography technology and a photomultiplier tube(PMT)-based bio-ultraweak photon emission system were used. The test sites were Guanyuan acupoint and non-acupoint(2 cm from the right side of Guanyuan)and Sanyinjiao acupuncture point and non-acupoint(2 cm away from the inner posterior side of the calf of Sanyinjiao),and the test time was from 10:00 a.m.to 12:00 a.m.on the third day after the end of each menstrual period, and the duration of the test was 80 minutes.A total of36 patients were tested, with a total number of 864 tests and a total test duration of 144 hours. Results: The difference in UPE luminescence intensity between the Guanyuan and its adjacent non-acupoints was statistically significant(P < 0.05);the difference in UPE luminescence intensity between the Sanyinjiao and its adjacent non-acupoints was statistically significant(P < 0.05)in patients with primary dysmenorrhea with cold clotting and blood stasis. Conclusion: Infrared temperature and UPE intensity of representative meridian points in patients with primary dysmenorrhea differed from their corresponding non-meridian acupoints confirming the biophysical specificity of the meridian acupoints compared to the2 cm position adjacent to the meridian acupoints. |
