Objective: In this study, patients with primary dysmenorrhea in adolescence were selected as the study subjects to observe the clinical efficacy of single-acupoint and matching-acupoint groups in the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea in adolescence, and to compare the efficacy differences between single-acupoint and acupoint matching,so as to provide a basis for the clinical selection of acupoints for primary dysmenorrhea in adolescence. Methods: Sixty patients with primary dysmenorrhea in adolescence who met the diagnostic and treatment criteria were selected as study subjects and classified into two groups on a random basis, thirty cases in the single point group(Guanyuan)and thirty cases in the matching point group(Guanyuan,Zigong,Sanyinjiao).Patients in either group started therapy 7 days before the onset of metrorrhagia, and the patch was applied once a day for 10 days, for a series of three sessions. The visual analogue score of pain(VAS)and COX menstrual pain symptom scale(CMSS)were evaluated in both groups before and after three menstrual cycles of treatment. All results were statistically analyzed using SPSS 26.0.Results:(1)Generic data analysis of the two groups: there was no major effect on the general data of the single-acupoint group and the matched-acupoint group(P>0.05);(2)within-group discussion of the two groups before and after treatment: there was a major decrease in the VAS and CMSS scores of the single-acupoint group and the matchedacupoint group before and after treatment(P<0.05);(3)Inter-group comparison between the two groups before and after treatment: there was a remarkable variation in VAS scores between the single-acupoint group and the matched-acupoint group in the first, second and third menstrual cycles(P<0.05);there was a significant difference in CMSS scores between the single-acupoint group and the matched-acupoint group in the first menstrual cycle(P<0.05);but there were no significant differences in the second and third menstrual cycles(P>0.05);there was a significant difference in vertigo(4)Overall efficacy of the two groups was 75.86% in the single acupuncture point group and 86.21% in the matching acupuncture point group(P<0.05).Conclusion: Both single point group and combined point group have therapeutic effects on adolescent primary dysmenorrhea and can improve the symptoms of adolescent primary dysmenorrhea. In terms of the overall efficacy, the acupoint matching group is better than the single acupoint group. The improvement of dizziness and insomnia in the acupoint matching group is better than that in the single acupoint group.
