Objective: To observe the efficacy and safety of Manyao applied plaster in the treatment of centrally mediated abdominal pain syndrome. Methods:IIn this study,72 patients with centrally mediated abdominal pain syndrome(hepatic depression and qi stagnation evidence)were collected from the Affiliated Hospital of Changchun University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and grouped using a random number table. These patients were assigned to two different experimental groups, one being the test group and the other being the control group. The number of patients in both groups was 36.The control group received basic psychological counselling in combination with oral administration of Chai Hu Liver Dispersion twice daily. The experimental group applied full medicine dressing on top of the treatment of the control group, and the treatment duration of both groups was 30 days.We will evaluate the treatment effect of both groups by observing the pain, symptom score and anxiety and depression of the patients. This experiment will demonstrate the significant efficacy, safety and reliability of full-blown compresses in the treatment of centrally mediated abdominal pain syndrome(liver depression and qi stagnation evidence). Results:In this study,we collected a sample of 72 patients with CAPS,3 of whom had shed(1 in the trial group and 2 in the control group). The other 69 patients with complete data had completed all treatments,35 of which belonged to the test group and 34 to the control group. After comparison, the difference between the basic information and the condition of the two groups before treatment was not significant(P>0.05),which indicated that the two groups of patients’ could be compared subsequently. After comparison,we found that there were significant differences in the levels of pain, symptoms, anxiety and depression between the two groups of patients before and after receiving treatment(P<0.05).This indicates that both groups of patients were treated and that the treatment was effective. After calculating the statistical data, the abdominal pain symptoms of the patients in the test group were significantly improved with an effective rate of 88.57%,while the symptoms of the 34 patients in the control group were also significantly relieved with an effective rate of 76.47%.The effective rate of the test group was 82.86%,while the effective rate of the control group was 67.64%.The results of these two groups indicate that the efficacy of the test group was significantly better than that of the control group in this study. Conclusion: The utilization of Manyao and Chaihu Shugan powder in conjunction with one another was notably more evident in the treatment of central-mediated abdominal pain syndrome(syndrome of liver depression and qi stagnation),and there was no adverse reaction, which verified the effectiveness and safety of Manyao application in the treatment of this disease.
