Objective:By investigating the bad mood status of elderly chronic heart failure(Chronic Heart Failure,CHF)patients in a tertiary hospital in Jilin Province and analyzing the bad mood status and influencing factors of elderly CHF patients with statistical methods,we explored the correlation between the bad mood status and influencing factors of elderly CHF patients, and confirmed that patients with heart disease, due to somatic symptoms and psychological stress and burden easily accompanied by anxiety, depression and other psychological problems;anxiety, depression and other adverse emotions will in turn promote the development of cardiovascular disease. This study provides an empirical basis for improving patients’ physical and psychological health and quality of life,as well as for psychological interventions by medical professionals. Methods:Two hundred and nineteen elderly inpatients diagnosed with CHF in the cardiology department of a tertiary hospital in Jilin Province from November 2020 to September 2022 were selected for the study. The Patient General Information Questionnaire,Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)and Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Failure Questionnaire(MLHFQ)was administered to the study participants. The data were entered and analyzed by SPSS 24.0 statistical software after the questionnaires were collected, and the statistical methods included descriptive analysis,t-test,ANOVA,chi-square test, logistic regression analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis.Results:1.In this study,229 questionnaires were distributed to elderly patients hospitalized with CHF,and 219 valid questionnaires were returned, with a valid return rate of 95.6%.2.The anxiety scores of elderly CHF patients were 51.93 ± 16.29,with scores significantly higher than those of the domestic norm(p<0.001),and the differences were statistically significant. The results of univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences(p<0.05)in anxiety among elderly CHF patients with gender, place of residence, per capita monthly income, number of hospitalizations per year, cardiac function class, and comorbid other chronic diseases, with chi-square values of 9.317,5.724,7.761,6.198,8.962,and 7.795,respectively.multivariate analysis showed that gender, place of residence, cardiac function classification and comorbidity with other chronic diseases were the main influencing factors for the development of anxiety state in elderly CHF patients.3.The depression score of elderly CHF patients was 53.69 ± 16.18,with a score significantly higher than the domestic norm(p<0.001),and the difference was statistically significant. The results of univariate analysis showed statistically significant differences(p<0.05)in depression among elderly CHF patients with gender, age, education, monthly income per capita, number of hospitalizations per year, and comorbid other chronic diseases, with chi-square values of 4.324,8.726,6.758,16.392,8.276,and 10.529,respectively.multifactorial analysis showed that age, monthly income per capita, number of hospitalizations per year number of hospitalizations and comorbidity with other chronic diseases were the main influencing factors for depressive states in elderly CHF patients.4.The total quality of life score of elderly CHF patients was(52.87±14.17);among the mean scores of the three dimensional entries, the highest score was(2.60±0.69)in the physical domain, followed by(2.49±0.66)in the other domain, and the lowest score was(2.42±0.79)in the emotional domain.Independent samples t-test and ANOVA revealed that the quality of life scores were not identical between the groups of gender, age, education, per capita monthly income, number of hospitalizations per year, and comorbid other chronic diseases, and the differences were statistically significant(p<0.05).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that age, comorbidity with other chronic diseases, gender, per capita monthly income, and number of hospitalizations per year were factors influencing the quality of life scores(p<0.05).Conclusion:1.Older CHF patients all had more severe dysphoric moods.Gender, place of residence, cardiac function classification and comorbid other chronic diseases were the main influencing factors for the occurrence of anxiety state;age, per capita monthly income, number of hospitalizations per year and comorbid other chronic diseases were the main influencing factors for the occurrence of depressive state in patients.2.The results of this study showed that the quality of life of elderly CHF patients was at a poor level, and the factors affecting the quality of life of patients were: age, comorbid other chronic diseases, gender, per capita monthly income, and number of hospitalizations per year.
