Depression is a common mental illness, characterized by high incidence, high relapse rate and high suicide rate, which not only causes great pain to patients, but also causes great burden to society and families.Studies have shown that depressed patients have inhibition deficits and rumination problems, and often have a lack of psychological flexibility in thinking patterns, which affects their cognitive function, emotional regulation and social behavior. This study included rumination to explore the role of rumination in depression between cognitive inhibition and psychological flexibility.Study 1 selected 240 valid participants, using the Stroop task, and the experimental design was a mixed design of 2(groups)× 2(experimental conditions),where the group was the inter-participant variable and the experimental condition was the internal variable of the participant. The experiment asked participants to ignore the meaning of the word and judge the color of the word.To explore whether there is a significant difference in cognitive inhibition between people with depression and healthy subjects based on the correct rate of participants and the results of their response.Study 2 used a questionnaire method to select 136 valid participants, and on the basis of Study 1,the relationship between cognitive inhibition, rumination and psychological flexibility was further explored, and whether rumination had a mediating effect between cognitive inhibition and psychological flexibility was analyzed. The following conclusions were obtained from the above two studies:1.Depression has deficits in cognitive inhibition;2.Depression rumination plays a mediating role between cognitive inhibition and psychological flexibility. This study confirmed the cognitive inhibition difficulties in depressed patients, and revealed the mediating role of rumination between its cognitive inhibition and psychological flexibility, which has practical clinical practice value for clinical psychologists to correctly identify and intervene in depression, and then improve the cognitive inhibition ability and psychological flexibility of depressed patients through appropriate medical means. |
