Objectives:In this study,by comparing the cough symptom score,TCM syndrome score, disease control status and serum IFN-γ,IL-13 changes in children with cough variant asthma in remission, the clinical efficacy of chiropractic combined with Montelukast sodium in the treatment of this disease was observed,to explore whether chiropractic as complementary therapy can achieve better efficacy. Methods:From July 2022 to November 2022,66 patients with cough variant asthma admitted to the Department of Massage and Pediatrics of the Second People’s Hospital of Fujian Province were selected and randomly divided into 2 groups with 33 cases each.Treatment group:chiropractic plus oral montelukast sodium, chiropractic operation: 9 times each time, once every other day,for 8 consecutive weeks,a total of 28 times.Oral Montelukast sodium,5mg for ≥6 years old;<6 years old,4mg,once a day before going to bed for 8 weeks.Control group: Montelukast sodium was given orally only, the medication method is the same as that of the treatment group. The changes of cough symptom score,TCM syndrome score, disease control, blood IFN-γ and IL-13 before and after treatment were compared between the two groups, and the clinical efficacy was evaluated according to the Guiding Principles for Clinical Research of New Chinese Medicines. The effectiveness of chiropractic combined with Montelukast sodium was comprehensively verified from various aspects.Results:1.Evaluation of cough syndrome score: Intra-group comparison for two groups before and 4weeks,4weeks and 8 weeks, the difference(P<0.05)indicates that the two groups could improve the cough symptom of children. After 4 weeks of treatment, there was no statistical difference between the two groups(P>0.05);After 8 weeks of treatment, there was a statistical difference between the two groups(P<0.05).Indicating that the treatment group was better than the control group.2.Single TCM syndrome score: After 4 weeks of treatment, the scores of each single TCM syndrome in the treatment group and the control group were lower than before, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After 8 weeks of treatment, the cough, poor appetite and loose stool in the treatment group were decreased compared with 4 weeks of treatment, and the cough in the control group was decreased compared with 4 weeks of treatment, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment, there were statistical differences between the two groups in exhaustion and poor appetite(P<0.05).After 8 weeks of treatment, there were statistical differences in cough, poor appetite and loose stool between the two groups(P<0.05).The results showed that both treatments could improve the scores of various TCM syndromes of phlegm-induced lung syndrome after4 weeks of treatment, and the treatment group was better than the control group in improving cough, poor appetite and loose stool after treatment.3.Evaluation of TCM syndrome score: Intra-group comparison for two groups before and 4weeks,4weeks and 8 weeks, the difference(P<0.05)indicates that the two groups could improve TCM symptoms of children, compared between groups(P<0.05),indicating that the treatment group was better than the control group.4.Evaluation of disease control: Intra-group comparison for two groups before and 4 weeks,4weeks and 8 weeks, the difference(P<0.05)indicates that the diseases of the two groups of children were effectively controlled through treatment. After 4 weeks and 8 weeks of treatment, there was no statistical difference between the two groups(P>0.05),indicates that the two groups could control the development of disease.5.Serum IFN-γ,IL-13 level: Intra-group comparison for two groups before and after, the difference(P<0.05)indicates that two group could decrease the level of IL-13 and elevate the level of IFN-γ.After treatment, the difference between the two groups(P<0.05),indicates that the treatment group was better than the control group.6.IFN-γ/IL-13: Intra-group comparison for two groups before and after, the difference(P<0.05)indicates that two group could improve IFN-γ/IL-13.After treatment, the difference between the two groups(P<0.05),indicates that the treatment group was better than the control group.7.Clinical efficacy evaluation: The total effective rate of the treatment group was 89.66%,and the control group was 82.14%(P<0.05),indicating the efficacy of the treatment group was better than that of the control group.Conclusions:1.Under the action of a 4-week course, chiropractic therapy combined with Montelukast sodium and oral montelukast sodium alone can improve the cough symptoms,TCM syndrome score and control the onset of the disease in children with cough variant asthma.2.Under the 8-week treatment course, both chiropractic combined with Montelukast sodium and oral montelukast sodium alone can regulate IFN-γ/IL-13 levels, further improve cough symptoms,TCM syndrome score and disease control, and the clinical efficacy of chiropractic combined with montelukast sodium is superior to oral montelukast sodium alone. |
