| Objective: To collate the clinical research literature on the treatment of ulcerative colitis(UC)in the active stage with Chinese medicine in the past 10 years,to systematically analyze the clinical evidence and Chinese medicine prescriptions involved in the literature by using data mining technology, and to investigate the etiology and pathogenesis of Chinese medicine in the treatment of UC in the active stage, the rules of clinical use,and the characteristics of formulae and combinations,so as to provide clinical reference and guidance. Methods: The clinical literature from September 2012 to September 2022 was searched by computer from China Knowledge Network(CNKI),Chongqing VIP database(VIP),Wan Fang Data knowledge service platform(Wan Fang Data),the literature was screened according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the data was extracted, the evidence type was performed using Excel 2019,as well as the names of the Chinese medicines included in the Chinese medicine prescription, the frequency analysis was carried out by using IBM SPSS Modeler 18.0 software for high-frequency herbal medicines with frequency > 8,and cluster analysis was carried out by using IBM SPSS Statistics 23.0 for high-frequency herbal medicines with frequency > 8.Results:(1)A total of 97 publications were included in this study, and 19 evidence types were obtained,of which the top five most frequently used evidence types were: damp-heat evidence of large intestine,damp-heat internalized evidence,damp-trapped evidence of spleen deficiency,liver-depressed spleen deficiency evidence, and damp-heat evidence of spleen deficiency.(2)A total of 97 prescriptions were obtained, involving a total of 149 Chinese herbal medicines, and the frequency of cumulative use of Chinese herbal medicines was 1104 times. The top five most frequently used herbs were Gan Cao,Huang Lian,Bai Shao,Bai Zhu,and Mu Xiang.(3)In terms of the classification of the efficacy of herbal medicines, the top five most frequently used herbal medicines were deficiency tonics,heat-clearing herbs,qi-regulating herbs, hemostatic herbs, and water-releasing and damp-permeating herbs.(4)Regarding the pharmacological properties of high-frequency drugs, cold drugs and warm drugs are used most frequently;regarding the taste of high-frequency drugs, the top three frequently used drugs are bitter, sweet and pungent;regarding the attribution of high-frequency drugs to the meridians, the five organs are most frequently used by the spleen meridians, followed by the liver and lung meridians, and the six internal organs are mainly used by the stomach meridians, followed by the large intestine meridians.(5)According to the analysis of association rules, when the minimum support was set at 30% and the minimum confidence was set at 80%,the associated drug combinations with the top three support were Gan Cao + Bai Shao,Bai Shao + Mu Xiang, and Huang Lian + Mu Xiang.(6)According to the cluster analysis, the Chinese medicines can be clustered into four categories: Huang Bai,Bai Touwen,Qinpi,San qi,Chi Shao,Bai Ji and Yan Husuo are clustered into one category;Rou Gui,Bing Lang,Dang Gui,Huang Qin,Ge gen,Gan Cao,Huang Lian,Mu Xiang,Bai Shao,Ma Chixian and Chi Shizhi clustered into one category;Bai Zhu,Dang Shen,Fu Ling,Shan Yao,Bai Biandou,Yi Yiren,Sha Ren,Chen Pi,Chai Hu and Fang Feng are clustered into one category;Huang Qi,Bai Jiangcao,Di yu,Xian Hecao,Cang Zhu and Gan Jiang into one category. Conclusion: From the data mining results,it is concluded that the active phase of UC is a deficiency of the root and a combination of deficiency and reality. The disease is located in the large intestine, closely related to the spleen, stomach, liver and lung, and the weakness of the spleen is the root of its pathogenesis.Treatment should be based on deficiency, dampness, heat, stagnation and stasis, with "tonifying, eliminating evil and stopping bleeding" as the mainstay, and helping to eliminate evil together. At the same time, the four drug clusters derived from this study provide references for the corresponding prescriptions for the evidence of damp-heat with stasis,damp-heat with toxicity,liver-depression,spleen-deficiency,and yang-deficiency with damp-heat in the active stage of UC. |
