| Objective:To understand the status quo of positive feelings, family function and coping styles among caregivers of patients with brain tumors, and investigate the influencing factors of positive feelings. To analysis the relationship of positive feelings, family function and coping styles.Using the structural equation model to explore the pathways and mechanisms among positive feelings, family function and coping styles. In order to formulate the effective nursing measures, reduce the burden of care, improve the positive feelings of caregivers of patients with brain tumors. Methods:The convenient sampling method was used to select 204 caregivers of brain tumor patients who were admitted to a tertiary hospital in Shenyang from December2021 to July 2022.Data were collected using the self-designed general information sheet,Positive Aspects of Caregivers(PAC),Family Assessment Device(FAD)and Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire(SCSQ).Excel was used for data entry and SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 26.0 were used for data analysis. The frequency and composition ratio were used for the counting data, and the mean±standard deviation was used for the measurement data. The correlation among positive feelings, family function, and coping styles in brain tumor caregivers was calculated by Pearson. The influencing factors of positive feeling of caregivers were used by univariate analysis and multivariate analysis.Structural equation model was used to explore the mechanism of positive feelings, family functions and coping styles.Results:1.The scores of positive feelings of 204 caregivers were(32.05±6.47),including(17.50±3.63)in the self-affirmation dimension and(14.55±3.35)in the life outlook dimension.2.The total score of family function was(125.28±12.76),and the average score of entries was(2.09±0.21).The average score of positive response items were(1.77±0.41),and negative response items were(0.86±0.42).3.(1)The positive feelings of caregivers of brain tumor patients were positively correlated with optimistic coping style(r = 0.492,P < 0.01),negatively with pessimistic coping style(r=-0.64,P<0.01).(2)The positive feelings of caregivers of brain tumor patients were negatively correlated with various dimensions of family function(r=-0.418,P<0.01).4.The influencing factors of positive feelings of caregivers included the sex of the caregiver(β = 0.170,P < 0.01),understanding of patient’s diseases(β = 0.418,P <0.001),medical payment method(β=-0.148,P<0.01),tumor type(β=-0.172,P<0.01),whether the disease recurred(β=-0.126,P<0.01),and family function(β=-0.145,P<0.01).5.Coping style has a significant mediating effect between family function and caregivers’ positive feelings. The mediating effect of positive coping style was-0.086,95%CI was[0.023,0.271],and negative coping style was-0.238,95%CI was[-0.524,-0.341].Conclusion:1.The positive feelings of brain tumor caregivers were at a medium high level, and the influencing factors of positive feelings included the gender of the caregivers, the degree of disease understanding, medical payment method, tumor type, whether disease recurrence, and family function.Clinical staff should take targeted intervention measures to increase the positive experience of the caregivers.2.Coping style partially mediates the effect of family function on caregivers’ positive feelings. After understanding the mechanism of interaction between variables, clinical staff should take the initiative to assess caregivers’ family function, identify their coping style and coping ability in the face of difficulties,so as to formulate effective nursing programs, reduce the burden of care and give play to positive feelings. |
