Objective: To investigate the status of readiness for hospital discharge(RHD),health literacy and perceived social support of postoperative colorectal cancer(CRC)patients; To identify the correlation between health literacy, perceived social support and RHD in postoperative CRC patients; To clarify the factors affecting the readiness for RHD of patients after CRC surgery. It provides a reference basis for improving patient readiness for discharge and reducing readmission rates. Methods: The study is a cross-sectional study.A convenience sampling method is used to randomly select 210 consecutive patients. They were admitted to a tertiary hospital in Shenyang from October 2021 to October 2022 for surgical treatment of colorectal cancer, and a questionnaire was administered. The questionnaire includes the General Information Questionnaire, the Readiness for Hospital Discharge Scale(RHDS),the Health Literacy Scale(He LMS),and the perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS).We used SPSS 23.0software for statistical analysis. The count data is described by frequency and composition ratio;the quantitative data are described by mean and standard deviation; The t-test,ANOVA,and multiple linear regression analysis are used to explore the influencing factors of Readiness for Hospital Discharge;Pearson correlation analysis is applied to explore the correlation between health literacy, perceived social support and readiness for hospital discharge.Results:1.The score of readiness for hospital discharge in postoperative colorectal cancer patients is(88.76±16.12),the personal status dimension score is(21.65±5.51),the Perceived coping ability dimension score is(33.02±9.73),and the Expected support dimension is(33.71±5.43).The health literacy scale score is(93.20±16.36),the information accessibility ability dimension score is(39.27±6.54),the communication and interaction ability dimension score is(29.93±9.59),the willingness to improve health dimension score is(15.72±3.19),and the financial support willingness dimension score is(8.11±1.84).The score of the patient’s perceived social support is(66.17±10.80),the family support dimension score is(24.41±3.70),the friend support dimension score is(17.74±7.30)and the other people support dimension score is(24.03±3.66).2.Pearson correlation analysis showed that readiness for hospital discharge was positively correlated with health literacy in postoperative colorectal cancer patients(r=0.533).In addition, all dimensions were significantly positively correlated(P<0.01)except the personal status dimension and the expected support dimension, which were not correlated with the information accessibility ability dimension. The readiness for hospital discharge in postoperative colorectal cancer patients was positively correlated with perceived social support(r=0.282).Besides,the family support dimension was positively correlated with all dimensions of readiness for hospital discharge(P<0.01).3.The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed statistically significant differences in the health literacy, perceived social support, ability to care for oneself, enterostomy, and literacy levels of patients after colorectal cancer surgery. Conclusion: 1.The readiness for hospital discharge(RHD)and health literacy in postoperative colorectal cancer patients were at an intermediate level, the perceived social support ability was at a high level.2.The readiness for hospital discharge(RHD)in postoperative colorectal cancer patients was positively correlated with health literacy and perceived social support. The higher level of health literacy, the higher the readiness for hospital discharge;the higher ability of perceived social support, the higher readiness for hospital discharge.3.Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that health literacy, perceived social support ability,self-care ability, existence of enterostomy and literacy level entered the equation and explained 65.3% of the variance in readiness for hospital discharge(RHD).
