Clinical Observation On Modified Shenlingbaizhu Powder In Treating Radiation Proctitis Of Spleen Deficiency And Dampness Stagnation Type

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Shenlingbaizhu Powder on radiation proctitis with spleen deficiency and dampness stagnation.Methods: Fifty-eight patients with radiation proctitis due to spleen deficiency and dampness stagnation were enrolled in the Department of Oncology and Gynecology of the Fourth Clinical Medical College of Xinjiang Medical University.The time range was from December 2021 to March 2023,and 6 patients were lost to follow-up.Finally,52 patients were randomly divided into two groups.24 patients in the experimental group were treated with modified Shenling Baizhu Powder and Montmorillonite Powder,while 28 patients in the control group were treated with Montmorillonite Powder alone for 4 weeks.All the scores were recorded after taking the medicine.Results:(1)RTOG/EORTC classification: The rank distribution was tested by rank sum test,P < 0.05,which indicated that the grade of the experimental group was better than that of the control group.(2)NRS score: After treatment,there was a statistical difference between the two groups.The score of the experimental group was lower and the nutritional status was better.(3)Total effective rate: There were four kinds of curative effects in both groups,and the effective rate between groups was tested by Fisher,P <0.005,and the difference was statistically significant.The curative effect grade was tested by Wilcoxon rank sum test,P < 0.05,and the curative effect of the experimental group was better than that of the control group.(4)TCM symptom score: Before treatment,there was no statistical significance between the two groups,but after treatment,there were differences in stool characteristics,abdominal pain,acute diarrhea,and total score of TCM symptoms between the two groups,and the improvement degree of the above symptoms in the experimental group was obvious.From the inside of the group,the symptom scores of the two groups decreased after treatment,that is,the treatment was effective.(5)KPS score:KPS score of both groups increased after treatment,and it was better after treatment than before treatment(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups before treatment,but there was a difference between the two groups after treatment,and the score of the experimental group improved more.(6)Safety comparison: The two groups were safe,and there were no obvious adverse effects and side effects.Conclusion:Modified Shenlingbaizhu Powder has a certain clinical effect on radiation proctitis of spleen deficiency and dampness stagnation type,which can alleviate the pain of patients and improve their quality of life,and has good safety and no obvious adverse reactions.
