| Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of conventional acupuncture and staged electroacupuncture in the treatment of peripheral facial paralysis(PFP)with retroauricular pain.Research methods:70 patients with peripheral facial paralysis and retroauricular pain were divided into two groups using a random number table method in a 1:1 ratio:35 cases in the conventional acupuncture group and 35 cases in the electroacupuncture group. The onset time of all patients was within the acute phase. Both groups of patients were given basic treatment during the treatment period. The conventional acupuncture group referred to the treatme-nt prescription for facial paralysis in the acupuncture and moxibustion and Moxibustion Science published by the People’s Health Publishing House, and the electroacupuncture group was treated by stages combined with electroa-cupuncture.Both groups of patients were treated with acupuncture for 2courses of treatment, each course of treatment 10 times.Observation indicators:1.Record the House Brackmann(H-B)facial nerve function evaluation grading and facial disability index(FDI)score of patients in the two groups before treatment, after one course of treatment, and after two courses of treatment, respectively,to assess the improvement of the face;2.Using the Visual Analogue Pain Scale(VAS),record the pain scores of the posterior ear and mastoid region before treatment, after one course of treatment, and after two courses of treatment in both groups 3.Record the duration of conscious retroauricular pain in both groups of patients. Results:Before treatment, there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of gender, age, course of disease, disease side,H-B facial nerve function evaluation grade, facial disability index(FDI)score, and VAS pain score(all P>0.05),indicating that the two groups were comparable. After treatment, there was a statistically significant difference in H-B scale,FDI score, and VAS pain score between the two groups compared to before treatment(all P<0.05);The curative effect symptom rating and score of the two groups of patients after the end of two courses of treatment were better than those after the end of one course of treatment(P<0.05).After each course of treatment, the therapeutic effect of the electroacupu-ncture group was better than that of the conventional acupuncture group(all P<0.05).3.After treatment, the two groups of patients compared their perceived duration of pain behind the ear.Chi-square test showed that P<0.05 was obtained for the duration of pain, indicating that there was a statistically significant difference in the efficacy between the electroacupuncture group and the conventional acupuncture group. The total effective rates of the electroacupuncture group and the conventional acupuncture group were84.85% and 94.12%,respectively.There was a statistically significant difference in the efficacy between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusions:1.Staging plus electroacupuncture is effective in treating peripheral facial paralysis with retroauricular pain.2.The efficacy of stage plus electroacupuncture in the treatment of peripheral facial paralysis with retroauricular pain is better than that of conventional acupuncture.3.Staging plus electroacupuncture is more effective in eliminating posterior ear pain in peripheral facial paralysis. |
