Objective of the studyTo observe the safety and efficacy of the Zhatiao method in the treatment of movement disorders in chronic-phase frozen shoulder, and to evaluate the similarities and differences between this method and conventional acupuncture in the treatment of movement disorders in frozen shoulder.Research methodsA randomized,single-blind,controlled study method was used to collect a total of 60 patients with chronic-phase frozen shoulder who met the diagnostic criteria. The 60 patients were randomly divided into a treatment group(Zhatiao method)of 30 patients and a control group(conventional acupuncture)of 30 patients, with the treatment group using the Zhatiao method of shoulder acupoints and the control group using the conventional acupuncture method.Shoulder acupoints include the Jianqian point, the Jianyu point and the Jianzhen point. The treatment was given once a day for 6 days, with a rest period of 1 day at the end of each course of treatment.A total of 3 courses of treatment were given. The visual analog rating scale, range of motion of the shoulder joint and daily living ability scores were measured in the two groups before and after treatment, respectively. The efficacy of the two therapies in the treatment of chronic-phase frozen shoulder mobility disorders was analyzed and compared according to the observed data before and after the two treatments. Results of the study1.28 cases were completed in the treatment group, and 2 cases were dislodged. In the control group,28 cases were completed and 2 cases were dislodged.Baseline information for both groups was tested to be statistically indistinguishable.2.Comparison of VAS scores: by between-group test,VAS scores were not statistically significant in both groups before treatment(P>0.05)and were statistically significant after treatment(P<0.05).By intra-group test, there was statistically significant before and after treatment in both groups(P<0.01).3.Comparison of shoulder ROM: By the between-group test, there was no statistically significant(P>0.05)activity of shoulder joint in all directions before treatment in both groups, and there was statistically significant(P<0.05)in abduction, internal rotation and external rotation, and no statistically significant(P>0.05)in flexion, posterior extension and internal retraction after treatment, and the comparison of the sum of each activity was statistically significant(P<0.05).By intra-group test, both groups were statistically significant before and after treatment(P<0.01)..4.Comparison of daily living ability: by between-group test, the scores of daily living ability in both groups before treatment were not statistically significant(P>0.05),and after treatment were statistically significant(P<0.05).By intra-group test, both groups were statistically significant before and after treatment(P<0.01).5.The effective rate of the treatment group was 96.42%;the effective rate of the control group was 89.29%.By non-parametric test,P < 0.05,the difference was statistically significant.Conclusion1.The use of Zhatiao and conventional acupuncture can relieve shoulder joint pain, improve shoulder joint mobility and enhance the ability to perform daily activities.2.In terms of relieving shoulder joint pain, improving shoulder joint mobility disorders as well as improving daily living ability, the Zhatiao method has obvious advantages over conventional acupuncture.
