Objective To explore the relationship between preoperative lymphocyte to C-reactive protein ratio(LCR)and postoperative complications of colorectal operation. Methods 119 patients who underwent radical surgery for colorectal cancer from December 2018 to December 2021 in the Department of General surgery of the first people’s Hospital of Hefei were collected.According to the occurrence of postoperative complications, the patients were divided into two groups: non-complication group(n =84)and complication group(n = 35).The general data and test results of the two groups were compared. The statistically significant indexes were analyzed by multivariate logistic binary regression analysis to determine the independent risk factors of postoperative complications of colorectal cancer. The best cut-off point of LCR was determined by receiver working curve(ROC),and the area under the curve was calculated to compare the predictive efficacy of LCR,C-reactive protein and NLR in predicting postoperative complications. Results Among all patients,35(29.41%)patients had postoperative complications.Preoperative LCR(OR=0.465,95% CI: 0.224 to 0.965,P=0.04),age(OR=1.066,95% CI: 1.001 to 1.136,P=0.048),CEA(OR=0.252,95% CI: 0.083 to0.766,P=0.015),and albumin(OR= 0.063,95% CI: 0.759 to 0.973,P=0.017)were influential factors in the occurrence of postoperative complications in patients. The results by ROC curve suggested that preoperative LCR had the largest area under the curve(0.840)and the highest positive predictive value(62.79%)in predicting postoperative complications in colorectal cancer, with a cutoff value of 0.34,corresponding to a sensitivity of 77.10% and a specificity of 81.00%.Conclusions Preoperative LCR is a valid predictor of postoperative complications in colorectal cancer patients, and the incidence of postoperative complications is high in colorectal cancer patients with preoperative LCR ≤0.34.
