Objective:The purpose of this study is to observe the clinical therapeutic effect of Sangbaipi Decoction on patients with Acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD)syndrome of phlegm and heat stagnation of pulmonary disease and its effects on laboratory indices,so as to enrich methods and basis for the treating of patients with AECOPD with traditional Chinese medicine. Methods:A total of 60 patients with AECOPD syndrome of phlegm and heat stagnation of pulmonary disease who met the inclusion criteria and were admitted to the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine of Wuhu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2022 to December 2022 were collected. They were randomly divided into observation control groups, with 30 cases in each group.Control group:conventional Western medicine treatment combined with respiratory training;Observation group: On the basis of the control group,Sangbaipi Decoction was added. The treatment period was 7 days. The changes in TCM(Traditional Chinese medicine)symptom score, serum inflammatory index,COPD Assessment test(CAT)modified British medical research council(m MRC),six minutes walk distance test(6MWD)of the two groups were observed at the beginning and end of treatment, and the data were statistically analyzed.Results:1.Baseline : There was no significant difference in gender, age, acute aggravation times and smoking index between the two groups(P > 0.05).Before treatment,TCM syndrome scores, laboratory indexes,CAT,m MRC and 6MWD of patients in the two groups were compared,P > 0.05,and the differences were not statistically significant.2.TCM syndrome score: The total scores of TCM syndrome of the observation and control group were compared within the group(scores of 4 main symptoms: cough;Gasping for breath;Phlegm;Sputum volume),(5 symptoms scores: chest pain;Thirsty like cold drink;Fever;Constipation;Pulmonary rales)were significantly lower than before treatment(P < 0.001).Compared with the control group, the improvement of TCM syndrome scores in the observation group was statistically significant(P < 0.05).3.CAT: In group comparison,CAT scores of the observation and control group were significantly lower than before treatment, the differences were significant(P <0.001).Comparison between groups,P > 0.05,no significant statistical significance.4.m MRC: In group comparison,m MRC scores of observation and control group were lower than before treatment, the differences were significant(P <0.05).Comparisonbetween groups,P > 0.05,no significant statistical significance.5.6MWD: In group comparison,6MWD of observation and control group were significantly higher than before treatment,(P < 0.001),the differences were significant.Comparison between groups,P > 0.05,no significant statistical significance.6.Laboratory index:WBC:In group comparison,WBC of observation and control group were lower than before treatment,(P < 0.05),the differences were significant.Comparison between groups,P > 0.05,no significant statistical significance.hs-CRP:In group comparison,hs-CRP of observation and control group were significantly lower than before treatment(P < 0.001),tthe differences were significant.Compared with the control group, the improvement of hs-CRP in the observation group was statistically significant(P < 0.05).PCT : In group comparison,PCT of observation and control group were lower than before treatment(P < 0.05),the differences were significant, although there was statistical significance, the value of PCT M(P25-P75)was lower than the clinical judgment range(< 0.5ng/ml).PCO2: In group comparison,PCO2 of observation and control group were lower than before treatment,(P < 0.05),the differences were significant.Comparison between groups,P > 0.05,no significant statistical significance.Oxygenation index: In group comparison,Oxygenation index of observation and control group were higher than before treatment(P < 0.05),the differences were significant.Comparison between groups,P > 0.05,no significant statistical significance.5.Safety comparison: During the study period,no adverse reactions occurred in theobservation and control groups. Conclusions:Sangbaipi Decoction can better improve the recovery and clinical symptoms on patients with AECOPD syndrome of phlegm and heat stagnation of pulmonary disease, and cause statistically significant lowering of serum CRP levels, with good safety and no obvious adverse reactions.
