Objective: In this study, the efficacy of acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training on blood stasis type lumbar disc herniation was investigated by observing the changes of the indexes before and after the treatment and conducting comparative analysis. Methods: In this study,72 patients with blood stasis type lumbar disc herniation who met the diagnostic and inclusion criteria were selected and divided into a control group(acupuncture only group)and a treatment group(acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training group)according to the random number table method,36 patients in each group.patients in both groups were treated once a day for 10 days, for a total of two courses of treatment. The changes in VAS,JOA scores and lumbar joint mobility were recorded before and after treatment, and the efficacy of the treatment was evaluated according to the Diagnostic and Curative Criteria for Chinese Medicine.Follow-up was performed 1 month after the end of treatment, and the number of recurrences was counted to calculate the recurrence rate. The data collected were compared and analysed using SPSS26.0 software. Results: The difference in VAS scores between the two groups after treatment was statistically significant(P<0.05);(2)The difference in JOA scores between the two groups after treatment was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the subjective symptoms and limitation of daily activities scores in the treatment group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05);(3)There was no statistical difference between the two groups in the posterior extension mobility of the lumbar spine after treatment(P>0.05),and the anterior flexion mobility of the lumbar spine was statistically significant(P<0.05);(4)The total effective rate was 88.24%in the treatment group and 68.57% in the control group. There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05);(4)The total effective rate was 88.24% in the treatment group and 68.57% in the control group, with a statistically significant difference between the groups(P<0.05);(5)There were 2 recurrences out of 34 cases in the treatment group, with a recurrence rate of 5.88%;5 recurrences out of 35 cases in the control group, with a recurrence rate of 14.28%.Conclusion: Both acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training therapy and simple acupuncture therapy can improve clinical signs and functional activity impairment in patients with blood stasis type lumbar disc herniation, but acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training is more effective in relieving pain level, improving subjective symptoms and activities of daily living, and is more advantageous than simple acupuncture therapy in reducing recurrence rate.
