Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of intensive silver needle heat conduction therapy in the treatment of piriformis syndrome, explore the effectiveness and feasibility of intensive silver needle heat conduction therapy in the treatment of piriformis syndrome, and provide basis for the clinical treatment and research of piriformis syndrome. Methods:From December 2021 to December 2022,40 patients with piriformis syndrome who met the inclusion criteria were treated in the Department of Joint and Sports Medicine of Ruikang Hospital Affiliated to Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine and the Department of Orthopedics of Airport Campus. The patients were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group with 20 cases each. The observation group was treated with intensive silver needle heat conduction, once a week, twice a course of treatment; The control group was treated with traditional Chinese massage, once every other day,for 14 consecutive days as a course of treatment. The ODI score,VAS score, symptoms and signs score of the two groups of patients before treatment,2 weeks and 4 weeks after treatment were counted.By using statistical methods to process and analyze the collected data,we compared the curative effects of the two interventions on piriformis syndrome.Results:1.There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of the site of disease, course of disease, sex, age,ODI score,VAS score, symptoms and signs before treatment(P>0.05),which was comparable.2.The two groups of patients were compared within 2 and 4weeks after treatment. The results showed that the VAS value,ODI value, symptoms and signs values decreased compared with those before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The VAS scores of the two groups were compared at 2 and 4 weeks after treatment. The observation group was significantly better than the control group in alleviating pain, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The ODI scores of the two groups were compared at 2 and 4 weeks after treatment. The observation group was significantly better than the control group in improving the lower limb joint dysfunction, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The scores of symptoms and signs were compared between the two groups at 2 and 4 weeks after treatment. The observation group was significantly better than the control group in relieving clinical symptoms, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The clinical efficacy of the two groups after treatment was compared. The results showed that the total effective rate of the observation group was 95%,and the total effective rate of the control group was 75%.The clinical efficacy of the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group, and there was a significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion(s):Both intensive silver needle heat conduction therapy and traditional Chinese medicine massage therapy can reduce the degree of pain, improve joint dysfunction and relieve clinical symptoms and signs in patients with piriformis syndrome. However, intensive silver needle heat conduction therapy is significantly superior to traditional Chinese medicine massage therapy in reducing VAS score,ODI score, and symptoms and signs evaluation, and its clinical effect is accurate, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
