| Objective:This study used the Fuyuan Huoxue Jiawei Formula to treat preoperative swelling and pain in patients with Sanders II and III type calcaneal fractures. The clinical efficacy of Fuyuan Huoxue Jiawei Formula in treating preoperative swelling and pain in Sanders II and III type calcaneal fractures was evaluated by observing the swelling grade, swelling value, swelling reduction rate, pain degree, and appearance time of dermatoglyphs in the affected limbs. Methods:This study selected 60 Sanders II and Sanders III calcaneal fracture patients who met the experimental conditions and were hospitalized in the Department of Orthopedics at the Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from September 2021 to January2023.They were randomly divided into a treatment group of 30 cases(Fuyuan Huoxue Jiawei Fang oral+conventional anti-inflammatory treatment plan)and a control group of 30 cases(conventional anti-inflammatory treatment plan). All enrolled patients were given elevated pads to elevate their affected limbs, and ice packs were applied within 48 hours of injury(ice packs were uniformly made by the ward,20 minutes per session,3 times a day).Record the basic information of the names, ages, genders, distribution of affected sides, fracture types, and circumference of the healthy side of the two groups of patients.Record the circumference of the healthy side and affected side at admission,as well as the circumference of the affected side on the 3rd and 5th days after treatment, swelling grade of the affected limb,VAS score, and appearance time of dermatoglyphs.Calculate the swelling value and swelling rate, and import the obtained data into SPSS26.0 statistical software for statistical analysis.Results:1.Among the selected patients with calcaneal fractures, there are more males than females, and the high-risk age group is middle-aged(40-65+years old). There was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05)between the two groups of patients in terms of age, gender, distribution of affected sides, fracture classification, swelling grade, swelling value,VAS score, etc.before treatment, indicating that the two groups of patients were at the same baseline before treatment and were comparable.2.During the treatment period, there was a significant difference in swelling grading between the two groups of patients(P<0.05)on the 3rd and 5th day of treatment. The swelling grading of the treatment group was lower than that of the control group.Compared with before treatment, there was a significant difference in swelling grading within the treatment group on the 3rd and 5th days(P<0.05);On the third day of the control group, there was no statistically significant difference in the swelling grading within the group(P>0.05).On the fifth day, there was a significant difference in the swelling grading within the group(P<0.05).The treatment group had a faster decrease in swelling grading compared to the control group, and the swelling reduction effect was better.3.Compared with before treatment and on the third day of treatment, there was a significant difference in swelling values between the treatment group and the control group on the fifth day(P<0.05),indicating that both groups could reduce swelling values and have anti-inflammatory effects.During the treatment period, there was a significant difference in swelling values between the two groups of patients(P<0.05)on the 3rd and 5th days of treatment. The swelling values in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group, indicating that the treatment group had better swelling reduction effect.4.During the treatment period, there was a significant difference in the swelling reduction rate between the two groups of patients(P<0.05)on the 3rd and 5th day of treatment. The treatment group had a higher swelling reduction rate than the control group, indicating that the treatment group had a better swelling reduction effect.5.Compared with before treatment, there was a significant difference in VAS scores between the control group and the treatment group on the 3rd and 5th day of treatment(P<0.05),indicating that both groups had analgesic effects.During the treatment period, there was a significant difference in VAS scores between the two groups of patients(P<0.05)on the 3rd and 5th days of treatment. The VAS scores of the treatment group were lower than those of the control group, indicating that the treatment group was better than the control group in alleviating patient pain.6.The appearance time of dermatoglyphs in the treatment group was shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05),with significant differences and statistical significance. It indicates that the treatment group is superior to the control group in shortening the appearance time of dermatoglyphs.7.Both groups of patients did not experience any adverse reactions related to the drug during the study process.Conclusion:(1)The Fuyuan Huoxue Modified Formula can significantly improve the preoperative swelling and pain of Sanders II and III type calcaneal fractures, shorten the preoperative waiting time, and improve clinical efficacy;(2)Good safety and no adverse reactions occurred during the treatment process. |
