Clinical Efficacy Of Combining Xiaozhen Zhitong Decoction With Plum Blossom Acupuncture In The Treatment Of Herpes Zoster With Liver Meridian Stagnation And Heat

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of the combination of Xiaozhen Zhitong decoction and plum blossom acupuncture in the treatment of herpes zoster with liver meridian stagnation and heat.Methods:Sixty patients with herpes zoster with liver meridian stagnation and heat were randomly divided into 2 groups: in the treatment group,30 cases were given Xiaozhen Zhitong decoction combined with plum blossom acupuncture,while in the control group,30 cases were given Xiaozhen Zhitong decoction,both groups were treated with the basic treatment of ganciclovir drip,oral methylcobalamin tablets,and applying Fufang Huangbaiye Tuji to the lesions.The patients’ visual analogue scale scores(VAS scores)and comprehensive symptom scores were assessed before and after treatment,respectively,the time of pain relief and the time of herpes zoster cessation,crusting and debridement were recorded,and follow-up visits were conducted on the 30 th and60th days after the end of treatment to record the occurrence of postherpetic neuralgia.The clinical efficacy of the two treatment regimens was statistically analyzed for any differences in pain relief,improvement of herpes zoster symptoms,and reduction in the incidence of postherpetic neuralgia.Results:1.The VAS scores and overall symptom scores of patients in the treatment and control groups were all lower than those before treatment,and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05);2.The degree of pain relief and time to pain relief of patients in the treatment group were all better than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05);the time to stop herpes,time to crust and time to debridement were all better than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.001);3.The total effective rate of the treatment group was 100.00%,with a healing rate of 76.67%;the total effective rate of the control group was 100.00%,with a healing rate of 50.00%.The total effective rate of both groups was 100.00%,and there was no difference between the two groups;the healing rate was statistically different(P<0.05),and the treatment group was better than the control group;4.After follow-up,there were 2 cases of posterior neuralgia in the treatment group and 4 cases of posterior neuralgia in the control group,there was no statistical difference between the two groups(P>0.05);5.There was no difference between the two groups in terms of the incidence of adverse reactions(P>0.05).Conclusion:The combination of Xiaozhen Zhitong decoction and plum blossom acupuncture in the treatment of herpes zoster with liver meridian stagnation and heat can effectively relieve pain,improve symptoms and shorten the course of the disease without significant adverse effects,and has clinical application value.
