Clinical Observation Of Combining Mongolian And Western Medicine To Treat Diabetic Macular Edema

Objective:Optical coherence tomography(OCT)and angiography(OCTA)were used to evaluate the clinical efficacy of Mongolian medicine Mingmu-11 in the treatment of diabetic macular edema(DME).Research methods:In this study,a total of 80 patients(80 eyes)with DME admitted to the ophthalmology ward of the Affiliated Hospital of Inner Mongolia University for Nationality from October2021 to December 2022 were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,40cases(40 eyes)in each group were injected with conbercept ophthalmic injection 0.05 ml once a month.The treatment group was given Mingmu-11 on the first day after injection for 3 months.The best corrected visual acuity(BCVA),central macular thickness(CMT),foveal avascular zone(FAZ)area,blood flow density of superficial retinal layer(SVD)and deep retinal layer(DVD)were observed before treatment,3 months and 5 months after treatment in the two groups.Research results:1.Before treatment,the general data,BCVA,CMT,FAZ area,SVD and DVD were compared between the two groups(P > 0.05),which were comparable.2.After 3 months of treatment,BCVA was increased and CMT was decreased in both groups compared with before treatment(P < 0.05),and the treatment group was more obvious than the control group(P < 0.05).The FAZ area of the two groups was not significantly improved(P > 0.05).The DVD in the treatment group was better than before,while the SVD and DVD in the control group were not improved(P > 0.05).3.After 5 months of treatment,compared with before treatment,BCVA of the two groups was increased in the treatment group(P < 0.05),but not in the control group;Compared with before treatment,the CMT of the two groups was more stable in the treatment group(P < 0.05),but not improved in the control group(P > 0.05).Research conclusion:1.The effect of Mongolian medicine Mingmu-11 combined with intravitreal injection is better than that of intravitreal injection alone,which is effective in the treatment of DME.2.Mongolian medicine Mingmu-11 can effectively improve and protect vision,reduce central retinal thickness in macular area,improve retinal blood flow density,and delay the progression of the disease.
