Purpose: To explore the clinical effectiveness of Ren Mai moxibustion in treating constipation after a stroke and,in conjunction with the knowledge of mentors and current research,to initially explore its possible treatment mechanisms,to provide a new clinical treatment approach to improve constipating symptoms in post-stroke patients.Method: 60 patients with post-accidental constipation who met the standard were included, divided according to the random numerical diagram into the lactose group(30 cases)and the Ren Mai moxibustion group(30 cases). Both groups received basic treatment, covering rehabilitation training such as drug therapy, physical therapy and operational treatment, dietary adjustment, health education and psychological evacuation. On this basis, the drug group used the treatment method of oral lactose oral solution,1times a day,30 ml each. The treatment group used a therapeutic method of Ren Mai moxibustion therapy,3 times a week,1.5 hours each. Both patients were treated for four consecutive weeks.Basic patient information and clinical scoring table(CCS)for pre-and post-treatment constipation patients, life quality table(PAC-QOL),and Bristol fecal table(BSFS)were recorded, and differences between the two groups were compared and discussed. Results: All 60 patients included in this study successfully completed the treatment.Basic data(age, gender, disease course, disease type)of the first two groups of patients were compared with CCS measurement table,PAC-QOL measurements table,BSFS measures table and other observational indicators, with no statistical significance differences(P>0.05).After receiving complete treatment, the two groups compared two groups of observed indicators, and the results suggested that the CCS scale,PAC-QOL scale and BSFS scale indicators for both groups of patients were statistically significant compared with pre-treatment(P<0.05),and in the comparison between groups of the indicators after treatment for two groups, the differences in CCS Scale and PAC-QOL Scale Score were statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Oral lactose therapy and Ren Mai moxibustion therapy can to a certain extent improve the clinical symptoms of constipation in patients after a stroke, improve the quality of life of patients, and improve the fecal characteristics.2.Ren Mai moxibustion therapy is better than oral lactose therapy in improving clinical symptoms of patients with constipation after a stroke and improving the quality of life of patients. But both are equally effective in improving the fecal characteristics.3.The clinical effect of Ren Mai moxibustion therapy for patients with constipation after a stroke is significant, and it is a safe and effective method that is worthy of clinical promotion.
