ObjectiveTo compare the efficacy of heat-sensitive moxibustion combined with Huangqi Decoction and Huangqi Decoction in the treatment of post-stroke constipation(qi deficiency and blood stasis). To evaluate the effect of heat-sensitive moxibustion combined with Huangqi Decoction on relieving symptoms of constipation and improving activity of daily living after stroke.MethodsAccording to the diagnostic criteria, inclusion criteria, exclusion criteria and shedding criteria,68 inpatients were included(Department of Neurology,Department of Geriatrics,Shenzhen Bao’an Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Group). They were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, with 34 patients in each group. The control group was treated with huangqi decoction, and the treatment group was treated with heat-sensitive moxibustion on the basis of the control group.Huangqi Decoction prescription:Huangqi 30g Maren20g Chenpi 10g Dangshen 10g Taoren 6g Honghua 5g Baimi 10g Zhigancao 6g.Chinese medicine is processed by Kangmei Pharmaceutical. The heat-sensitive moxibustion acupoint:Tianshu(double),Zhigou(double),Daheng(double),Fenglong(double),Qihai(double),Zusanli(double),Sanyinjiao(double). Two packs of traditional Chinese medicine and heat-sensitive moxibustion once a day were treated for 2 weeks.BM score and Barthel index were used as the observation indexes, and the scores at three time points before treatment,2 weeks after treatment and follow-up were statistically analyzed.Results1.A total of 68 patients were enrolled in this study, with no shedding patients. All patients successfully completed all courses of treatment and follow-up.There was no statistical significance in general data(gender, age, underlying disease)(P>0.05),and it was comparable. There was no significant difference between BM score and Barthel index before treatment(P>0.05),which was comparable.2.The scores of constipation symptoms in the two groups after treatment were lower than those before treatment, and the difference between the treatment group and the control group after treatment and follow-up was statistically significant(P<0.01).After treatment and follow-up compared with before treatment, there were significant differences(P<0.01);there was also significant difference between follow-up and after treatment(P<0.01).Compared with the control group before treatment, there were significant differences after treatment and during the follow-up(P<0.01),but there was no significant difference between the follow-up and after treatment(P>0.05).The results indicated that the two groups were effective in improving the symptoms of constipation, and the short-term and long-term effects of the treatment group on constipation were better than the control group.3.Barthel index in both groups increased compared with before treatment, and the index of the treatment group and the control group before and after treatment and follow-up showed significant differences(P<0.01).The indexes after treatment and follow-up of the control group were compared with those of the control group, and the results were significantly different(P<0.01).The pairwise comparison between the two groups showed significant differences(P<0.01).The results indicated that both groups had certain effect in improving the ability of daily living, but the treatment group was better than the control group.4.Comparison of clinical efficacy and total effective rate between the two groups:there were significant differences in clinical efficacy between the two groups after treatment and follow-up(P<0.01),and there was significant difference between the treatment group during follow-up and after-treatment(P<0.01),while there was no significant difference between the control group during follow-up and after-treatment(P>0.05).There was a significant difference in total effective rate between the two groups after treatment and follow-up(P<0.01),and there was a significant difference between the treatment group and follow-up(P<0.01),while there was no significant difference between the control group and follow-up after treatment(P>0.05).The results indicated that both groups had certain effects, but the therapeutic effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group.ConclusionThis study proves that heat-sensitive moxibustion combined with Huangqi decoction is better in improving constipation symptoms, improving daily living ability and improving efficiency.A smooth defecation helps to improve the ability of patients to live daily after stroke.Heat-sensitive moxibustion combined with Huangqi Decoction is effective in treating post-stroke constipation and is worthy of promotion.
