Mongolian medicine is an important part of traditional Chinese medicine,and it is also one of the cultural quintessence formed by the Mongolian people through thousands of years of accumulation,development and inheritance.Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China,with the country attaching great importance to ethnic medicine ethnomedicines,Mongolian medicine,which uses plants,minerals and animals as raw materials,has become the focus of development in the field of the medicine.Mongolian medicine is a characteristic culture of Inner Mongolia,and the research of its development has important implications to the inheritance of Mongolian medicine in Inner Mongolia.Hüree Banner is affiliated to Tongliao City,Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.Because of its historical and cultural characteristics of Mongolian medicine,it has the reputation of the"Hometown of Mongolian Medicine Culture".The country’s first Mongolian pharmaceutical factory and the"China Mongolian Medicine Culture Inheritance and Protection Base"are located in Hüree Banner.This study explored the inheritance,protection and development status of Mongolian medicine in Hüree Banner from the perspective of history and anthropology through the method of medical history literature investigation and medical anthropology field investigation.Firstly,the historical origin,natural environment and Mongolian medicine cultural characteristics of Hüree Banner were explored through the literature research method.Secondly,through the anthropological field investigation method to interview the old-aged famous Mongolian doctors and Mongolian medical rural doctors in Hüree Banner to obtain first-hand information,so as to investigate and analyze the growth experience of rural doctors of Mongolian medicine in Hüree Banner,and learn about the inheritance way of Mongolian medicine in Hüree Banner in the middle and late 20th century.Thirdly,through the anthropological field research method,the Mongolian Pharmaceutical Factory and Mongolian Medical Hospital in Hüree Banner were investigated,and the development status of Mongolian medicine in Hüree Banner was expounded.Finally,the following conclusions are drawn:the establishment,history and culture of Hüree Banner,including Mongolian medicine,were influenced by religious culture to a certain extent;Mongolian medical rural doctors in Hüree Banner learned Mongolian medical knowledge in three ways of inheritance:namely the inheritance of master instructing apprentice,the inheritance of master instructing apprentice combined with college teaching,and the inheritance of college teaching,and they provided medical and health care services for the grass-roots people in Gacha(village)and Sumu(town),thus solving the problem of lack of doctors and medicines that existed in the rural areas of Hüree Banner in the early days of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.Among them,the inheritance way of master instructing apprentice refers to learn the basic knowledge and clinical practice of Mongolian medicine from Lama doctors who graduated from Manbarasang(the Medical School in Buddhist monasteries);The production line of the Mongolian Pharmaceutical Factory in Hüree Banner has gradually developed from the original simple manual operation to the current mode of combining manual and mechanization,and the output of Mongolian medicine has increased accordingly,which basically meets the demand for Mongolian medicine in Hüree Banner and even nationwide;The Mongolian Medical Hospital in Hüree Banner has developed well since its establishment.It not only occupies an important position in the rural tertiary health service network of Hüree Banner,but also plays an important role in the inheritance,protection and development of Mongolian medicine.
