ObjectiveTo observe the clinical effect of treating acute ankle sprain by "Layers Adjusting" External Application Therapy based on POLICE principle.MethodsIn this study,154 cases of acute ankle sprain are selected from the outpatient and emergency department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of Jiangsu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from December 2020 to December 2021,among which 34 cases are eliminated.Finally,120 cases meet the diagnostic criteria are counted.Forty patients are randomly assigned to the basic group(POLICE principle),the control group(flurbiprofen gel paste)and the treatment group(Layers Adjusting" External Application Therapy)according to the order of visit.VAS score,Kofoed score,swelling degree,subcutaneous ecchymosis and tenderness before and after the initial diagnosis,day 3,7 and 14 of treatment are analysed.ResultsIn this study,120 patients with acute ankle sprain are included,and there is no statistical significance in the efficacy of all indicators at initial diagnosis(P>0.05).Intra-group comparison showed that the function,pain and range of motion of affected limbs are gradually recovered with regular treatment in both of treatment group,the control group and the basic group.Especially on the 7th and 14th day of treatment,the clinical efficacy of the treatment group is better than control group and basic group.The swelling of the ankle joint-is not clinically evident until the 14th day of treatment.There is no significant between the three groups in the dissipation of subcutaneous ecchymosis of ankle joint.Conclusion"Layers Adjusting" External Application thick external application of the affected area to play a role of medicine,it can significantly reduce the pain and swelling of acute ankle sprain,and contribute to the recovery of ankle joint function.It is simple and portable in clinical use,and there is little skin allergic reaction in the process of use,which is worthy of comprehensive application and promotion. |
