Objective: To determine the prevalence of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, obesity, and hyperhomocysteinemia as well as yellow wine intake among middle-aged and elderly Shaoxing inhabitants using an epidemiological survey. To compile and statistically examine the correlations between yellow wine intake and prevalent cardiovascular illnesses. Methods: In this study,870 samples of Shaoxing inhabitants aged 45-88 years who visited the community health service center in Gaofu Street,Yuecheng District,Shaoxing City, from March 2021 to September 2021 for medical checkups were collected and collated, and were divided into a non-drinking yellow wine group,a moderate drinking yellow wine group, and a heavy drinking yellow wine group according to their yellow wine drinking status.Information on age, gender, amount and frequency of yellow wine intake, previous history of hypertension, and smoking history were recorded, blood pressure was measured,BMI was calculated, and blood samples were collected to test levels of total cholesterol,high-density lipoprotein,low-density lipoprotein, triglycerides, homocysteine, and D-dimer.T-test,chi-square test, analysis of variance,Wilcoxon rank sum test,Kruskal-Wallis test,Dunnett’s test, and logistic regression analysis were used to statistically analyze the obtained data.Result: The median amount of yellow wine intake in the sample was 300ml/day,the rate of yellow wine intake was higher in men than in women, and the rate of yellow wine intake was higher in those with a history of smoking than in those without a history of smoking. It was determined by statistical analysis that moderate intake of yellow wine can lower systolic blood pressure and decrease the prevalence of hypertension, making it a hypertension preventive factor.Drinking yellow wine in moderation can reduce blood lipid levels and the prevalence of hyperlipidemia, which is a preventive factor against hyperlipidemia.Yellow wine consumption had no effect on obesity and hyperhomocysteinemia, and there was no statistically significant difference between yellow wine consumption and D-dimer levels. Conclusion: Yellow wine consumption had a protective effect on hypertension and hyperlipidemia, while no statistically significant differences were seen for obesity, hyperhomocysteinemia, and D-dimer levels.
