| Stigma is a problem involving many disciplines. It will affect the treatment compliance, medical behavior, social adaptability,self-esteem and emotional experience of patients with mental diseases, and eventually lead to the decline of the quality of life of patients with mental diseases. It is the biggest burden of patients with mental diseases in the process of treatment and rehabilitation. The rehabilitation of patients with mental illness should not only focus on the control of the disease, but also do a good job in psychological rehabilitation. Therefore, from the perspective of social work, this study attempts to intervene the stigma of patients with mental illness in the rehabilitation period, help patients reduce the level of stigma, promote psychological rehabilitation and achieve better social integration. This study attempts to use the method of group social work to reduce the level of stigma of convalescent patients with mental diseases.Firstly, based on the principle of voluntary participation, the researcher recruited group members from XX mutual aid platform. At the same time, the researcher used the stigma scale and interview method to preliminarily understand the stigma level and stigma experience of group members.Secondly, based on the theory and practice of group members, the rational intervention scheme is designed and implemented.Under the guidance of rational emotion theory, the researchers carried out group intervention step by step. The group intervention activities are divided into three stages:in the early stage of group intervention, the researchers aim to help group members perceive and understand emotions, and make group members aware of their own shame while establishing relationships. In the middle of the group intervention, the researchers aim to help the group members understand their irrational beliefs that produce a sense of shame and correct their irrational beliefs. After forming a stable group relationship, they find and solve the problems of the group members. At the end of the group intervention, the researchers aim to consolidate the rational beliefs of the group members and deal with the parting emotion, timely consolidate the effectiveness of the intervention and properly deal with the problems caused by the end of the group.Thirdly, the researchers conducted paired sample t-test on the measurement results of the subjects before and after the group intervention. The analysis results showed that the level of stigma of the subjects decreased after the group intervention. Therefore, this study believes that group social work has a certain applicability to the intervention of stigma in convalescent patients with mental diseases. Finally, the researchers reflect on the shortcomings of this study and get enlightenment. |
