Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Post-Stroke Depression With Tongdu Bushen Acupuncture Manipulation

Objective:To observe and compare the clinical efficacy of TongDu BuShen and conventional acupuncture method in the treatment of post-stroke depression,in order to provide a superior protocol for the clinical treatment of poststroke depression.Methods:Sixty patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into two groups:the treatment group(TongDu BuShen acupuncture group)and the control group(conventional acupuncture group),with 30 patients in each group.All patients in the group received basic treatment for cerebrovascular disease.Upon the foundation of this treatment,the treatment group used the TongDu BuShen acupuncture method,which involved acupuncture points of Baihui,Shencong,YinTang,Shuigou,Shenmen,Neiguan,Shenshu and Taixi.In the control group,conventional acupuncture points were utilized,including Baihui,Yintang,Taichong,Shenmen,Neiguan and Danzhong.Both groups were dealt with once a day,with 6 days of acupuncture and 1 day of rest.7 days were a course of treatment,and 4 consecutive course of treatment was granted.Changes in the Hamilton Depression Inventory 24(HAMD-24)and each factor(including blockage,cognitive impairment,sleep disorders,anxiety somatization,and weight loss),Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS)and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)scores were observed in both groups before and after 4 weeks of treatment,and the overall clinical efficacy of the two groups was assessed by statistical analysis of the HAMD reduction rate.Results:1.Before treatment,the basic data(gender,age,disease duration)and observation indicators(HAMD-24 and each factor,SDS,NIHSS score)of the two groups were statistically analyzed,and the differences were not statistically significant(P>0.05),and the groups were comparable.2.After treatment,(1)HAMD-24 scale total score results:intra-group comparison:total HAMD-24 scores were lower in both groups,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05);inter-group comparison:the total HAMD-24 score was lower in the treatment group than in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(2)HAMD-24 results for each factor score:intra-group comparison:all five scores of blockage,cognitive impairment,sleep disorders,anxiety somatization and weight loss were reduced in both groups,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05);inter-group comparison:the four scores of blockage,cognitive impairment,sleep disorders and anxiety somatization were lower in the treatment group than in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the weight loss scores were lower in the treatment group than in the control group,the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).(3)SDS score results:intra-group comparison:SDS scores decreased in both groups,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);inter-group comparison:SDS scores were lower in the treatment group than in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(4)NIHSS score results:intra-group comparison:NIHSS scores decreased in both groups,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);inter-group comparison:NIHSS scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.Overall efficacy results:At the end of the treatment,the total effective rate of the treatment group was 86.7%and the total effective rate of the control group was 76.7%,the total effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Both the TongDu BuShen acupuncture method and the conventional acupuncture method can effectively reduce the patient’s depressive state and play a positive role in improving the mood of post-stroke patients.2.Compared to conventional acupuncture,the TongDu BuShen acupuncture method showed more significant improvements in blockage,cognitive impairment,sleep disorders and anxiety somatization in each factor of the HAMD-24.
