Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Sudden Deafness Of Liver-fire Flaming-up Type By The Points Around Ear With Eight Confluence Points

Objective:The purpose of this clinical trial was to observe the clinical efficacy of the points around ear with eight confluence points in treating liver-fire flaming-up type sudden deafness,and analysis the therapeutic mechanism and advantages,thus to provide more effective acupuncture prescription for clinical treatment of sudden deafness.Method : Sixty patients who were eligible for sudden deafness were randomly divided into treatment group(30 patients)and control group(30 patients).Acupoints selected in the treatment group: TE21,SI19,GB2,GB12,TE5,GB41,SI3,BL62;The control group selected acupoints: GB2,TE17,TE3,GB43,LR2,GB40.Both groups were treated with acupuncture 6 days a week and rest 1 day for 2 weeks.Pure Tone Audiometry(PTA),Tinnitus Evaluation Scale(TEQ)and Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA)scores of the two groups were recorded before and after treatment.IBMSPSS25.0 software was used for statistical analysis of the data to evaluate the efficacy of the two groups in the treatment of sudden deafness.Result:1.Comparison of groups before and after treatment: PTA,TEQ and HAMA in two groups were improved after treatment compared with before treatment,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).2.Comparison between groups after treatment: The improvement of mean hearing threshold in the treatment group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05);tinnitus occurrence environment,duration,sleep effect,work effect,mood effect,overall feeling score and TEQ total score were lower than those in the control group;the scores of HAMA in the treatment group was also better than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.The total effective rate of hearing improvement in the treatment group was 83.33%,and that in the control group was 73.33%,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the total effective rate of tinnitus improvement in treatment group was 81.82%,which was better than 70.00% in control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.In the treatment group,the hearing effective rate was 81.82% in patients with tinnitus and 87.50% without tinnitus,and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05);the hearing effective rate was 70.00% in the control group with tinnitus,and80.00% without tinnitus,and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:1." The points around ear with eight confluence points " therapy and conventional acupuncture treatment of sudden deafness are effective.2.The treatment of " the points around ear with eight confluence points " has more advantages than conventional acupuncture in improving patients’ hearing,tinnitus and anxiety symptoms.3.This study concluded that there may be no significant correlation between tinnitus symptoms and the curative effect of sudden deafness.
